Check in closes at 8pm and the restauarant closes at 9pm. Due to a missed train connection I almost didnt make it in time, I arrived just after 9pm and luckily for me they were still there.

I stayed in a single room, small but fine for me. One of the net curtains were missing from the windows, there are tea making facilities but no milk. The bath towel was extremely small.

The location is excellent, 10 minutes walk to the centre of town and 20 minutes walk to the train/bus station, and the Lech falls is just across the road. There is no breakfast option but this wasnt an issue for me as I had an early start on most days, I got my takeaway breakfast from the nice bakery near the train station, I believe it was called Landbäckerei Sinz. The croissants was freshly baked.

I had a lovely steak dinner at the restaurant on Sunday, but unfortunately they were closed on Monday else I would have gone there for dinner again, the Germans does the best steak.

This review is for the guesthouse, not the restaurant. Our family group of 5 booked 3 rooms (3, 4, & 6). Room 3 had a balcony with a beautiful view of the Lech River and the Alps, and a small table and 2 chairs. The furniture inside was generally basic but the rooms were clean and functional. A hot water kettle and different teas were included. Room 3 also had a table and 4 chairs, a sofa, a wardrobe, and an antique ceramic tile heater. Room 6 (a single) was very small but adequate and had a nice view from the bed. The rooms were generally quiet until early morning (the street noise started around 6 am). The bathrooms included body soap and a hair dryer. The towels were small but absorbent. The faucet in Room 4 was very loose and both handles were hot (although cold water did come out from turning the right handle). The location is pretty good—about a 10-minute walk to town (staying in town was quite a bit more expensive). To get there from the Romantic Road, Google Maps took us through Austria (the guesthouse is about ½ mile from the border), but there is no “border crossing” with guards—just a sign. Parking is just across a small street. No breakfast is served, but a map is provided with the locations of 5 places to get breakfast (4 in town). I had an issue that the host blamed on Booking.com. My reservation clearly stated that all 3 rooms had mountain/river views, and I even received a confirmation email when I contacted the guesthouse via Booking. However, Room 4 did not have this view. When I questioned the host, he basically said, “Not all rooms can have the view.” When I mentioned the email, he replied, “Yes, I saw that.” No apology or concern for my disappointment. Later, he claimed that Booking made the error by promising 3 rooms with a view and by writing the email. Still, he saw the email and did not choose to correct the information. Another miscommunication—I was charged a “city tax” of about 5% which was not included in the “final price” on Booking. This was the only guesthouse (out of 6 that we stayed in) where this happened.

My room overlooked the Lech falls which was lovely. The room had a 4 poster bed and ensuite bathroom. The room was generally very nice with a TV, a small table and chairs and bedside tables. There was no safe but there was a lockable wardrobe which we used and took the key with us.

The bathroom was clean but the only downfall is that in the room we had, it was difficult to angle the shower head so you didn't soak the bathroom! The compromise for the awesome views is that the room we had only had voiles not full curtains so more modest guests might not like that (I figured the drivers should be looking at road).

It seems like its out of town on arrival but it's actually pretty close. If you walk along the road its about a 10/15 minute walk on a gentle slope. You can also cross the river and cut through a park which is a similar time but more hilly.

Parking was really easy and free.

Stayed here on the last night of our Austria/Germany tour. Clean room with comfortable bed. Beautiful view and about 15 minute walk from the centre of Fussen. Great value in lovely location and perfect for visiting local attractions.
