The couple who run the hotel are friendly and do their best to make you feel comfortable. They also provide an excellent breakfast. Proximity of the railroad station is a special asset. Since this was the off season, I couldn't take advantage of the swimming pool.
Quaint little Hotel. The rooms were very pretty & provencal. The bathroom was very small with a folding door into bedroom which was a little strange, however like the bedroom it was very clean. The breakfast room was beautiful & the breakfast very good.Staff were friendly & helpful.Hotels bar was very reasonably price. The pool was an added bonus. Being next to the station there was some noise however there was air conditioning so you could close the window to block it out.
The things I liked: excellent helpful staff; helped me carry large suitcase up to second floor since the hotel does not have an elevator; Great location near train station and not too far from center of town; Very quiet area at night; Clean and crisp sheets and bedding; Nice size room with desk, chairs, lighting over bed; air conditioning worked well; Excellent value for period I visited; Satellite TV with a decent selection although all except BBC were in French. Nice small swimming (cooling) pool with lounging area on property perfect for a hot summer day; Strong, excellent wifi signal; Very Comfortable mattress on bed; lovely decor within room; Provided a bottle of water and snacks which were refilled daily during my stay.
The things I didn't like so much: towels were very clean but looked dingy/grayish; General cleaning of room and bathroom could be a little bit better (spider webs); Bathroom was pretty tight and toilet area was very narrow for anyone but the skinniest of people; Overall a great little hotel, with excellent staff. Will stay again if I am in the area.
It is just in front of SNCF station, so convenient for train travelers.
On the other hand, it is a little bit far from city centre.
There is a small small pool.
Room was not so ggod, not so bad, average level.
The Citotel de Provence is located a little outside the city center, close to the railway station. We parked on the street and did not use the secure facilities. After a short wait, we were welcomed in a friendly way and shown up to our room. At first we were showed a room with two separate single beds. After objecting that we had booked a room with a double bed, we were given the room next door. The host, who speaks English, helped bring up the luggage. As the room was on the third floor with no elevator, that was very nice.
The room itself was rather small and completely dominated by the double bed. The lighting was very dark and gave the room a rather gloomy impression. The bathroom was tiny and made the impression of having being fitted into what used to be a closet. There was no door, but rather two "closet" doors that didn't close properly. On the plus side, the bed was good and it had air condition.
We originally picked this hotel because it had a pool. This turned out to be for dipping and not for swimming, which was a disappointment. We did not have the breakfast. In spite of the hotel managers being friendly and accommodating and nothing really amiss, we did not really enjoy our stay and would probably pick a different hotel should we return to Orange.
