We stayed here outside Avignon for two nights. Wonderful location to be 15 minutes from the old city center and across from apple orchards. Overall, a short but pleasant stay, with a refreshing swimming pool for afternoon dips on a hot day. We would recommend for families.
We loved our 3 nights at Mas Chateau Blanc, a beautiful farmhouse B&B, very well renovated with beautiful styled interior.. We booked a family room which comprises of a full floor, two rooms connected by a hallway, one with twin beds, one with double bed. The rooms are perfect. They are air conditioned and share the shower but have separate toilets and sinks. Simply perfect for a family. The owner=family takes care of you really well, breakfast is splendid every morning (nicely in the garden) and the pool is fantastic as well. We rented the 4 bikes of the property to cycle to Pont du Gard, the bikes are robust and the owners provide locks and emergency repair set just in case.
The B&B is located on an island between the two steams of the Rhone - very nice and quiet. If you drive 2 km to the bridge, you can convenientlty park and walk to Avignon.
We can recommend anyone who wants to visit Aviignon and its area to stay here!
Mas Chateau Blanc is an immaculately- restored farmhouse from the mid-1800's. We visited for 3 nights with our 2 children, and were warmly welcomed by our wonderful hosts.
The owners, Fabienne and Philippe, were so kind and attended to our every need. The decor was simple, modern, and elegant, and fit perfectly with the surroundings. Every detail was impeccable.
The Mas is about an 8 minute drive from the fascinating city of Avignon, and it was much more relaxing for us to stay outside of the city in these beautiful surroundings than to be in the city (especially since we had just come from Paris). My husband and I went jogging every morning amidst pear orchards, and we all enjoyed the large salt water pool, which was the perfect temperature even though it was only early June.
Breakfast consisted of fresh breads and pastries served with homemade jams, juices, coffee/ tea, and an assortment of delicious fresh fruits.
It is an easy drive from here to many interesting sites in Provence, including the Pont du Garde, and many wonderful Provencal hill towns and vineyards.
I would highly recommend this place and wish that we could have stayed longer. In fact our daughters did not want to leave! Thank you, Fabienne and Philippe for a marvelous visit!
