Had another great stay an Le Grillion staff friendly and efficient room clean and spacious perfect location for all things Strasbourg. Now only if the rail strike wasn’t on but that France for you isn’t it
Reception staff lacking the basics in courtesy. Some training in ‘service’ required.
My husband was unwell and obliged to stay in the hotel room but staff were incapable of finding spare batteries for the tv remote control (during our 3-day stay).
When I called reception to request an additional pillow I was immediately put on hold until I gave up (after 11 minutes) and went to ask personally. I was given the key to an empty bedroom and told to help myself (which I did and also helped myself to the tv remote). Unfortunately the receptionist also works as barman for the cafe next door and has an obvious preference for serving locals before hotel guests, hence the long wait.
All in all an uncomfortable stay which won’t be repeated.
We stayed at the ideally situated Hotel Le Grillon during the famous Christmas Market festivities, The welcome was friendly and efficient and the room was spotlessly clean and calm. The hotel is attached to Le Perestroika. A bar for late night tipplers. There is a lift to all floors and a filling breakfast is taken in a room adjacent to the bar. It’s situation and price makes it a good value for money hotel in the beautiful city of Strasburg.
It is conveniently located halfway between the station and Petite France, rooms are minuscule with bathrooms 1x1 meters, bed is confortable and the room has only one plug to charge whatever you need.
The people at the reception or at least the man who checked me in, not exactly the most welcoming type of this world. The brakfast room is okay if you get at 7 am. Later it gets messy as the lady that should take care of cleaning the tables is not the most efficient of this world. This happend two days in a row, with also coffee machine having repeated problems.
It is an hotel managed in a very cost saving way, it is not expensive though , you really get what you pay for, or even less
I had a nice stay here. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, the staff was friendly. The location is very convenient, it's close to the station and to the old centre. The breakfast tasted good, although I would suggest they let guests put away their used plates and cups somewhere, because now people leave the dishes on their tables, making it seem all those tables are occupied. What I did not like was the wifi. It was slow and kept disconnecting.
