This was the second time myself and my partner have stopped with City Padzzz, the first being in February 2019. This time round we were in block 7 on the ground floor with a view out over the water.
Just like the first time the apartment was spacious, clean, well equipped and very homely! The bed was very comfy, as was the sofa.
The kitchen had everything you may need to make your own meals, plenty of pots, pans, knives and other utensils.
The apartment is located right on the water side, in a nice quiet area, with plenty of on street parking. There is an Asda within a few minutes drive or a 15-20 minute walk. Also within a few minutes walk is the bus stop for the number 10 bus which takes you into the centre of Edinburgh (Princes Street).
I would say only negative to this apartment is that some TLC is required to the walls and floors.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our second stay and we will certainly return in the future, as you get excellent value for money!
Apartment itself is fine for what it is, could be doing with an upgrade but it’s nothing major. The checkin procedure was a total farce, my reservation was cancelled without my knowledge, travelled 150 miles with 2 young children to find out this information. One email sent (which I never received) cancelling my reservation, when asked why they couldn’t phone to tell me there was no answers.
Ended up getting a room for 2 nights instead of 3 but at an increased rate compared to what we paid initially and had to cancel the 3rd days plans in Edinburgh. Had no choice given it was peak season and we had so much planned and booked for our trip.
Woman on reception couldn’t stop laughing and joking about the situation which made things worse.
We checked in after the reception office closed. After a travel day and sightseeing all we wanted was to unpack and take a hot shower. Picking up the keys and finding the apartment was easy. When we opened the door we were greeted with the most unpleasant smell and uncomfortable conditions. Nobody felt comfortable enough to relax, un pack or shower. In the morning we spoke with management and we were moved to a much better apartment. However, to think it was okay to put anyone in that apartment under those conditions is unacceptable. The average rating represents our first night stay. If we were given our 'upgraded room' initially the rating would hhave been much higher
