This hotel was up to scratch for a Premier Inn high quality and was a good place to stay. After a long drive it was nice to get to our room mid afternoon and as soon as we were unpacked we headed to the bar for a drink booking a table for later in teh evening. Th restaurant did not disappoint and we enjoyed our food that evening as well as our breakfast in the morning. As we had travelled to a family members funeral which was the next day not far from teh hotel, this was an ideal location to stay and considering teh circumstances we enjoyed our stay.
A recent stay in this Premier Inn confirmed our previous experiences of Premier Inns as poor. The room was ok with all the features and benefits you expect but something is definately going wrong with the Food - cold and not appertising.
When we arrived, we were a little confused with the automated machines in reception. A real person did arrive and check my partner and I in. We were only given 1 key card and it was at night. The bathroom only had one of everything. I had to go down to reception to acquire another bath towel. I had also asked for another hand towel but he didnt give me one. I didnt bring a key card down with me because my partner was afraid that the room would go into darkness if I took the card out and If we had forgotten anything in the car I would have been locked out. The bathroom had mould on the wall and ceiling. The hot water took ages to come through to the tap and there were no instructions on how to use the shower. As you can appreciate, we were really tired after visiting an entertainment venue and just wanted to retire for the evening.
The meagre offerings of tea, coffee milk and sugar would not satisfy what I would call a choice. I generally take more sugar and there wasnt enough milk, 1 of each item was penny pinching to the extreme and assuming we would share a towel is unacceptable.
We were looking forward to the breakfast.
There were no teaspoons, white bread, juice glasses and I had to remind staff that these things were missing. I didnt get any black pudding either as the dish was emptied by the person in front of me.£73 for the room and £20 for two breakfasts is a little high I would say.
I did however enjoy one thing..... Leaving.
Good value for money. Large room with a comfortable bed and it was nice and quiet Restaurant next door with ample free parking. Easy reach of Salisbury but you will need to drive in and park, or use the park and ride.
The bathroom was dirty and I had to clean it, fluff and pubic hairs in the sink, shower and bathroom floor. The carpet in the room had not been hoovered either and was dirty with lots of dark sock fluff from the previous guests.
