Stayed here earlier in the year. Was attracted by cheap prices. The photos of the rooms are all taken at over flattering angles to make it seem bigger than it is. 2 of us were in a double room with a bed slightly bigger than a single and no room for much movement, the en suite was so small that you have to stand up from the toilet to wipe you bum as you could not bend your elbows out. Another friend had a single room to herself which was bigger than the double room and a bigger en suite aswell. Checking in was confusing and very little guidence was given. The hotel is difficult to find as the pictures provided don't really show the surrounding area. The parking they offer is a tiny side lot that is in ruin with broken concrete and discarded bits of furniture. Even though it's cheap it's still not worth the price and I'm sure you can find better deals in the area. Seemed clean enough and has decent facility's in the local area with pubs and shops.
Trough Booking.com, we booked a room here sometime in May (2019), we had a horrible experience with customer service and the place itself.
Upon arrival, we had a hard time figuring out if it was the right place, given that there was no sign up (it was taken down, and was behind the fence). There is no reception desk.
The phone number at the entrance didn’t work and after searching online, after about calling 5 times, someone finally picked up and said our booking was cancelled according to their system.(my brother uploaded his data the week before our arrival) We got in touch with booking.com and after about a 2 hour phone call(put on hold for a out 1.5 hours), we were told to “find another place, sorry”
All in all, it was a terrible experience sitting in the rain trying to get an answer from the hotel and disheartening (to say the least) to get an answer like “Our system says your booking was cancelled. Contact Booking.com “
I booked to stay at this hotel in April 2019 through booking.com for 2 nights in London end of August bank holiday to stay 25-27th August (travelling 200 miles to stay for an event)/ I gave my card details to secure the room, however the hotel took full payment the day after my booking was made. I had received a call from the hotel, when the call was returned I had mentioned the payment being taken and I was offered a full refund, the hotel cancelled my reservation through booking.com and booked me in direct with payment being taken on August 1st. On arrival I was locked out (waited outside nearly 3 hours) contacting both OYO and a mobile number provided by other guests for the hotel manager! to be told I don't have a booking and new management aren't aware of my stay. Although I have confirmation of payment made on the 1st August and confirmation of room number I would of been staying in, the hotel telephone number was no longer in existence and I was told over the phone the hotel is overbooked and there was nothing anybody could do!!! DO NOT STAY OR PAY THIS HOTEL FOR A ROOM!! The manager is based in Wales, there is no hotel reception and I have no way to obtain/ speak to anyone about a refund!!! - Customer Service is disgusting!! although I have email proof of payment receipt and booking I was simply told the hotel is under new management and it wasn't there problem!!!!!!!!!!! Absouloutly disgusted as a female traveller with 2 teenage girls we were left on the street with no accommodation 200 plus miles from home.
Stay away from here! On July 27, 2019 we arrived at this hotel attracted by the low price for the night. Our excitement to rest for the night was soon gone when we realized that the four of us were bitten and tormented by bed bugs. We did not rest at all that night due to bed bugs everywhere. They were crawling on the bed, carpet and over the furniture. At 3:00 am, we decided we had enough of torture and began to pack our luggage and prepare to leave. We found more bed bugs crawling over our luggage and bags and the carpet on the room. We found our blood stains all over the bed when we got up. Our bodies were covered by their bites during our attempt to sleep. Approximately 2 weeks later the bites turned into very irritating/ itchy spots all over our bodies accompanying us on the rest of our Europe trip vacation. We think that this is a huge safety concern for the well-being of guests including us. We are still extremely unhappy as nothing was done by the hotel despite a submission of a complaint and phone call to the hotel. The carpet was also very dirty with crumbs and hair on it. We will not be able to recommend this hotel to anyone after this disgusting experience! Please find pictures of all the blood stains on the bed as well as the bed bugs on our bed.
Strange checkin system - but, before you check in, get in touch with hotel and they'll send you a form to fill out. Once thats done, you'll be sent `your room details including PIN for front door and room.
Once in, room was small, but comfortable and was very glad to have an ensuite.
WiFi is great - very fast, and free tea/coffee too.
Pleasantly surprised. But a good stay all-in-all.
