We have been traveling through Montenegro staying in different locations and hotels. This hotel is by far the most authentic, relaxed and super cozy hotel you’ll find near Kotor.
We got a nice room with a stunning view of the bay. Loved waking up to this. Just across the street you have the bay ready for a you to take a swim. Needless to say, we ended up booking an extra night before heading on.
The owner was very friendly and helped us a lot with information and tips on what to see and do. Also, he make a delicious breakfast!
Next to the hotel you have to markets and a bakery. Also, you have two restaurants to choose from.
If you want to rent SUP you’ll pay 20€ for a whole day. This is absolutely ridiculous cheap and a great way to explore the area. You are also able to rent bicycles, kayak etc.
The busses to Kotor and Tivat is driving every hour until 22:00. We paid 1€ per person each way. You just wave to get the bus to stop.
If you are travelling to Kotor, please drive a couple of km more to visit this 400 years old fantastic villa. The view, the atmosphere, the breakfast, the water and last but not least the owner, Alexander are all worth the visit. We stayed in room 2 (of five!), a gigantic apartment with a view you’ve never seen. The garden where Alexander serves breakfast is stunning too. We really hope to return to this paradise on earth.
We stayed all last week at Old Mariner Guest House and our stay has been great from beginning to end. The owner, Aleksandar, is very friendly, available and attentionate.
We had booked a sea view room, and her view is magical every time on the Kotor fjord.
The Villa Mariner is located in Prčanj, at 5 mns by car from Kotor, some very good restaurants are around and Kotor is very easily accessible also.
Thank you again Aleksandar :)
I was truly impressed by the location of this guest house. I was a little surprised at first at how far from the old city of Kotor this place is, but it really was a tranquil paradise. The good news is that taxis are plentiful and cheap for the journey out to Prcanj. There is also a bus service which appears to pass by every half hour or so. There are some good restaurants nearby, also a bakery and a couple of little convenience stores. Everything is within walking distance, and there are some lovely churches and places of interests to take a look at. The boat landing area at the front of the guest house is awesome. I spent a lot of time staring out at the bay and the mountains, and especially loved the light at sunset for some spectacular photos! I also sat out in the sun and read, as it was quiet and relaxing. The breakfast on the landing was also a treat, and amazing value for 4 Euros. I loved the room. Aleksandar has really made it a home away from home, with lots of nice touches, like the stereo, kettle and little dining table and chairs. My couple of smalll criticisms are that the beds would be better with a duvet rather than the mismatched linen currently there. Also the drains were a bit smelly, but I understand with the age of the property that this may not be something that is easily fixed. A big thank you for Aleksandar and this staff for making this such an enjoyable stay, highly recommended for anyone going to Kotor!
We were greeted by the owner Alexander, a charming helpful man. His family have been associated with the house for generations and the pride he has taken in restoring it is admirable. Large spacious rooms with beautiful sea views and very comfortable bed. The delightful Stravitsa greeted us in the garden for breakfast and advised us she thought our Airconditioning was inadequate. Next thing we have been moved to a larger room with great apologies. This place goes above and beyond with service. A must stay in beautiful Kotor. Highly recommended.
