We traveled to Paradisus Palm Real with our 2 children last week 8/9/19- 8/15/19 occupying room 2420. We just have to say we had such an amazing time. The staff was extremely attentive and handled all of our request promptly. Upon arriving we were immediately greeted and given a tour we arrived early so we were allowed to have lunch and enjoy cocktails while our room was prepped. Once we got to our room we found it to be a bit of a walk for the kids to the main area of the hotel where restaurants and theatre were, therefore asked to have our room switched to be in closer proximity. This was handled immediately and we were given a room in the main complex. Every night our beds were turned down and the chambermaid always created a cute scene with the Childrens pajamas and stuffed animals they loved that. One night we requested if someone could bring in some goodies for the kids since they loved to see what types snacks were left for them, with in minutes a gentleman arrived with a slew of snacks for the kids. We also really enjoyed the shows, everything from the Lion King, Michael Jackson, Le Cirque and Party. The performers were extremely talented and very entertaining. We ate at the buffet everyday as we have picky eaters and figured our best bet was to eat where they had a lot of options, so we didn't make reservations to any restaurants but heard they were great. We also took the kids to the kids club which isn't located at Palm Real but at the Reserve. It was a quick shuttle ride but the kids had a blast at the waterpark and the staff were so sweet and reassuring. The hotel itself is beautiful with uptown date amenities (the gym is one of the nicest I've seen in all inclusive). Palm Real for us is the best location as it is right on the beach. Although the beach did have some algae the hotel did there best to stay on top of it and we would see tractors coming to clean up whatever washed ashore every day. Lastly I want to comment on the service and name a few people who made our stay so much more enjoyable, everyone was so accommodating and friendly but these people went above and beyond for us. Some of the servers at the buffet Michael ( I didn't catch his last name but he was wonderful), Jesus Robles also a server. Luis Diaz bartender at the main pool. Lucia Bartender at night. Luis Cordero as well. The gentleman at the grill in the evenings that grilled chicken for the kids and my husband every night and a lovely woman at the omelette station every morning. Thank you for such a lovely experience and we hope to see all again.
Despite all of the recent news stories back in the U.S., our vacation in the Dominican Republic on June 17-22, 2019 was fantastic and trouble-free. And if there is a better resort in Punta Cana than the Paradisus, I would frankly be surprised. We did not hesitate traveling to the D.R. and would not hesitate going back. In fact, we even tried to stay an extra day but couldn’t get the flights worked out with American Airlines. I guess that just means that we’ll have to return someday.
Our room was nice, modern, and immaculately cleaned daily; the food was very good with a wide variety of restaurants; the beach was beautiful, clean and safe; we never had to hunt for a cabana, pool chairs, towels, etc.; and the drinks were always great with quality liquor and never a long wait. Even though I worked out 3 times this week in the resort’s gym, I still probably put on a few pounds but it was all worth it.
But the best thing about the Paradisus was the people. The staff in general was always friendly, helpful, positive, smiling, and pleasant.
Faustino was our Royal Service butler, and he went above and beyond to attend to our every need. In fact, he did a number of special, unexpected things in our room to make our stay memorable (wine and cheese/fruit trays, hot baths, stocked fridge, etc. were always waiting for us at the end of the day).
Faustino promptly responded to text messages during the day and evening, quickly helped with an excursion off-site that we almost missed because we lost a voucher, and always made sure that we had beach umbrellas, pool cabanas, and reservations at our desired restaurants. Faustino was fantastic and is a great asset to the resort.
We spent a lot of time in the Royal Service pool and beach area. Omar always kept us laughing and well-supplied with drinks, and Wanda was wonderful and always smiling behind the pool bar. They worked hard to make us very relaxed and comfortable, and we will always have fond memories of the Paradisus staff.
In sum, we would not hesitate recommending the Dominican Republic in general, and the Paradisus Resort in particular, for your next vacation. Just go—-you will love it.
We loved this holiday. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Overall the food was very good for a large resort. We especially liked the buffet. Evenning shows were of a high quality. We really liked the Michael Jackson Show. The guy was brilliant! Pool and beach area was very clean as was the whole resort. There wasn’t that many vendors try to sell you something on the beach.
The rooms were spacious with nice size balcony. We overlooked the gardens which was nice and quiet. The gym was the best gym I have been to at a resort. Plenty of cardio and weight equipment.
The only complaint we had was the ‘circle’ tour experience. This was the new resort on the same grounds. We found the sales team exceptionally aggressive and were unhappy when you didn’t want to buy in to the experience. Which was very expensive to join. My advice don’t go on the tour.
Fantastic facilities and restaurants with good food variety. Easy access to excursions as most pick up from the resort or right at the beach, but this is because there are limited things to do off resort. Good gym with few people using which I think is a shame because exercise makes the all you can eat food taste better! Thanks to Yohelvi and Jueri for being awesome and making the trip awesome. The concierges/butlers make reservations and other arrangements very easy and low stress. Knowing Spanish makes some things easier if at least one person can hold a basic conversation but not necessary as I was able to muddle through only knowing a few phrases.
We just returned and have nothing but great things to say! It’s the most beautiful place I’ve seen on earth. The staff was incredibly attentive and helpful with all of your needs. Special thanks to our butler, Alvaro, who took fantastic care of us. Some unique touches were the treats left in our room, the drawn bubble bath, making sure we were supplied with amenities, and especially the reservations he took care of. We were even delayed upon our arrival and we just assumed we’d eat buffet style in the cafe, but when we got to the resort Alvaro informed us he had already made us reservations at one of the restaurants. There is no other way to go, in my opinion, than the Royal Experience. Ask for Alvaro!
The private pool and beach area was delightful and Pedro and Rafael would make us comfortable each day in one of the poolside and/or beachside cabanas reserves for us. The ocean is a short walk from the private pool and the water at times is warmer than the pools.
If you’re an exercise buff like us the fitness center at the resort is nicer than a lot of gyms. Or just run the beach. Both are great options to get a work out in.
We can’t wait to return and will most definitely be back next year.
Lastly, a shout out to Victor at the Gavin bar! Great margaritas! And thank you for the Spanish lessons! He greatly improved my vocabulary! See you all next year!!
