If you want to feel special and pampered, this is the resort for you. All of the staff make you feel like you are a celebrity; they pay attention to the smallest detail. The private beach is gorgeous. The room is exactly as advertised. No bait and switch here. I will definitely return next year.
Eden Roc is a beautiful and peaceful resort and my boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The driver and car that met us at the airport was a great start to the trip. Once at the resort, our concierge Moises took over. He made us feel very welcome, took us on a tour of all of the entire resort and facilities including the stables/riding arena and tennis courts, and his calm and pleasant demeanor helped us to relax right away. From beginning to end, Moises took care of all of the details recommending restaurants, making reservations, ordering taxis, getting floats delivered to our room, etc. We literally did not have to do a thing and Moises really made our vacation easy. Our suite was beautiful; we especially enjoyed the indoor and outdoor showers. We used the large tub one evening and it was filled with bubbles and surrounded by rose petals and candles when we got back to the suite after dinner - very romantic. Our suite's pool was larger than we expected and very private; we loved it.
While the food at the restaurants was good, we found the variety limited. With the exception of breakfast, we mostly dined off property. Breakfast was amazing with the ability to order items from a menu as well as enjoy a full buffet. Our server, David, was outstanding. He greeted us by name and took care of our every need.
We highly recommend the Eden Roc at Cap Cana and are so grateful to Moises, David and all of the other staff that made our stay so wonderful.
Eden Roc at Cap Cana was one of our best travel destinations to date. All of the staff were very nice, helpful and accommodating. The resort was beautiful, clean, and overall just amazing. The pools were never crowded and there were plenty of chairs and lounges at the beach and pool areas. We loved all the restaurants, especially La Palapa for dinner because of their authentic Dominican cuisine. All our servers were very friendly, but special mention to David and Alejandro at Blue Grill and everyone at La Palapa for giving us outstanding service. We also enjoyed having our own pool outside of our suite. The only “negative” thing I want to mention is that the beach had some rocky areas. I injured my foot at one time after I stepped on a sharp rock and then fell into another rock. I’ve never encountered that at any of the beaches I’ve been to, so I had to wear flip flops into the water and that helped tremendously. Wish I had water shoes instead. The water also had a lot of seaweed but that could be due to the season. It would’ve been nice if Eden Roc provided a shuttle to places like the mini grocery or other stores other than the airport. I think the resort should also have a mini store for snacks and drinks and souvenirs. Overall, I highly recommend this resort!!
We had a wonderful, relaxing time at this gorgeous Relais and Chateaux property. While we were originally a little apprehensive about traveling to the Dominican given the recent news and traveller crimes, Eden Roc set all our concerns at ease and we felt totally safe. The property, villas, and service were outstanding. We stayed in a one bedroom villa with our own private pool. I recommend that option over a beachfront room because the value is better and you have much more privacy. You get your own golf cart to use during your stay to quickly drive ~2 minutes to the beach.
The property requires payment in full before arrival - not a practice I’m used to. They required me to send a picture of the front/back of my credit card and license (even though I had already provided my CC details on the website during booking). Don’t forget to bring the same credit card with you when you leave! I forgot and Eden Roc had to charge me again using the card I brought. That wouldn’t be a big problem except that I was told I will have to wait at least 20 business days for the ~$5,000 refund.
Once you arrive, make sure to note that all food and beverage bills have 18% tax and a 10% gratuity already included. We only realized that on day 3 and had been tipping another 20% on top of the pre-added 10%.
The beach did have a lot of seaweed on it - an issue that has plagued many Caribbean islands, so no fault of Eden Roc. They had workers raking and carting truckloads of the seaweed away each day, but it is impossible to keep up with and kind of gross when trying to swim.
My only major complaint about the trip was the large group party at the resort at the same time. They were loud, obnoxious, and distracting from the peace of our vacation. I choose resorts like Eden Roc because I do not want to relive my college Spring break days. The group had a loud DJ at the pool each day, a distracting bar and food buffet where everyone was drunk, and the restaurants were either overly crowded or closed all together for their “private party” as a result. I was surprised to see that Eden Roc would cater to this type of clientele, but perhaps they lowered their standards because overall tourism is down following the recent crime scares.
Truly a beautiful place. Got to experience both beach front suite and resort villas during our stay. Food and beach was excellent. Special thank you to David, our server. He was always there for us and very kind. He remembered my coffee order and always brought me orange juice in the mornings because he remembered I loved it! As well as Elvis and Terry who always brought fresh towels for us at the beach cabana and was close by whenever the family needed anything. It truly was a 11/10 experience that was a great way to end summer!
