New, clean, well located hotel. Closest station is Minami Tenjin, Not Tenjin station (they are connected but it's a 600-700m distance). Room is comfortable and spacious for one person, for two it might feel a little small but that's normal for hotel rooms in Japan everywhere. Plenty of shops, department stores, and restaurants nearby, you can pretty much walk to anywhere. Breakfast is decent but not a big selection, you will start repeating if you stay longer than 3 days. Everything is very efficient here and my stay went smoothly.
Plus-- there is a washing machine in the room, something I never see in other hotels (and they give you a sachet of detergent upon check in).
Minuses -- the lobby has a coffee machine but no water dispenser so you can't get drinking water. No complimentary drinking water in the room either. There is no closet in the room, just hooks and hangers on the wall, so it's ok for just short stay.
Excellent location, accessible to every places. The room is clean, good for business trip. Highly recommended to all who is looking for exploring the Fukuoka city. Underground station is just nearby. Eateries is just right at the door steps.
I stayed in this hotel from July 27-30, 2019 for vacation.
This is a new hotel with everything you need for a short stay. The room was compact as usual but it would be a bit larger than other hotels in downtown. I rented a car for this trip and it’s convenience for me to park near the hotel. Good cuisine & ramen were around the hotel and Don Don Donki was in 10-minute walk distance. Staff are friendly and professional.
Some were good in English. I would like to share that I got a small car accident at the carpark nearby and have had to report to police. The staff helped me a lot and translated for me. It’s one of the best services I have experienced as a hotel guest.
Marina, thanks so much!
As you could see from other comment, minimum room cleaning would be provided. They would remind you once you check in. That’s not a big deal if you are not stay for a long period.
Since we used Hakata as a base for our trips, we returned to Tokyu Stay Fukuoka Tenjin. We knew what to expect based on our previous stay in Tokyu Stay Ginza. We appreciate the washer-dryer in our room.
Location is also pretty good - in between Nakasu and Tenjin. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel. And it is about 3-4 stops to Hakata station. Tenjin subway and bus station is around 10 minutes walk away. Nearby are major shopping malls.
This particular Tokyu Stay is new - it opened earlier this year. After checking in, we selected the amenities we needed in the lobby and in addition this branch has a coffee machine for guests. The rooms are new and have a more modern touch - USB ports at each bed side table, so it is good for charging devices. We look forward to Tokyu Stay if it is within the city we visit.
