Came to know about Masinagudi 3 years back and was always on my list from that day to visit. Whom ever i spoke with about Masinagudi, they spoke about Forest hill farm for staying. This made me to have this in my must visit list.

Time and plan came together to visit this place in Jul'16.

Booked the rooms for 2 nights stay via Go green tourism. We booked a tree top accommodation.

Went in my friend's car from Tirupur, the drive was really good and fresh as we need to cross Ooty. Masinagudi is between Ooty and Mysore.

Locating this place was not a big challenge as GPS worked well.

As we entered, we met Mr. Radhakrishnan. He is the care taker and almost one point contact for everything. Very warm welcome at the reception. He took time to explain us patiently on safety aspects since it was a forest stay. Assigned one dedicated person to take care of us.

It was noon when we reached but already looked gloomy. After freshen up, straight we went to the lunch room.

They had a buffet style arrangement and good spread from salad to desert. It was really amazing and tasty food they served. One of the few holiday gateway serving such a tasty food..

The accommodation was nice. A well made tree house with non stop electricity supply. Well protected from mosquitos.

They advised that must not get down from the room without checking the surrounding as one may encounter elephant or bear or Bison or sometimes tiger. We need to call the reception and the deputed person will come in a protected Jeep to pick us for dinner. Spent couple of hours in the cold climate. Again for was awesome. They ensure they don't repeat the menu quite often.

They helped arranging safari trips and visit to government sanctuary.

All my friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the stay and trip.. Will go down as one of the memorable one in my life.

A must visit place and highly recommended

the trip to forest hills farm and guest house will be an unforgettable one and i am already looking forward to heading back there. the place is perfect for someone who is looking forward to a quiet and peaceful place to just sit and relax.
the farm house is around 1 km ahead of a village called thottalingi (doddalingi in kannada). its easy to find if u follow the directions and map put up at their website. even as you enter the place the sheer silence and serenity strikes you. since ours was a last minute booking we had to live with the standard double room allotted in the main building. but the place has lots of bamboo cottages and two tree houses which are also watch towers. the best time to visit the place would be after the rains (betn july and october) when the whole place would be fully green.
the service is great with a bunch of enthusiastic and helpful staff. special mention about the friendly owner Savitha Jane and the manager of the estate Mr Radhakrishnan who made sure that their guests feel at home. Food was excellent though it might be seen a little on the expensive side. there are few acitivites like badminton, volleyball, table tennis, tennis courts etc available in the estate itself. but mostly we were doing what we wanted to do for a long time - DO NOTHING!!! :) probably going in a group would be more entertaining.
In all this is one place we would love to go back again.

We only stayed one night, but it was a magic experience. The room was most acceptable, large, clean, tidy.
The food was plentiful and very tasty.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
No alcohol, but that was anticipated.
We had a marvelous evening after dusk watching the wildlife, including a very large elephant, pass below from the Treehouse. NB: you do need their transport to these rooms, for whilst it's only 300 metres it is not considered safe after dark.

It was a wondeful stay at a great location almost inside the forest. Its really safe and at the same time very nice to spot some wild life so near. Besides these things, the rooms are really great and the food served was awesome.
The Lunch room is a bit small and cramped comparitevely but the style is something to enjoy.
A must stay with the family and also a great place to relax

Stayed during April 2017 at the tree houses with kids. The feel was good, though not an actual tree house. Loved the atmosphere, the chirping birds, the wilderness and the view of the mountain. The food was always good (though we were all veg). I am not a foodie, so loved the wilderness more. Loved the last leg of off road driving to the guest house. The indoor games and the kids play area were a let down as its below average and poorly maintained. For example, the Table Tennis room, had a wooden TT table with worn out bats. Request management to improve to make it more value for money for all type of travelers. The property as such is aging. Loved the hide out for bird photography, could get some splendid snaps. Trip to the nearby hill (vibhooti malai, with the Muruga idol on top) was refreshing. Please note, the theppakadu elephant camp is closed now, which was disappointing. On the whole, we had a nice stay and thanks to the staff who made us feel good.
