Stayed here one night after flying into Dubrovnik to break up trip down to Ulcinj. Great fuss free friendly airport pick up, and hotel had all we needed. Bar, restaurant, loungers - and 3 mins downstairs to beach for glorious sunset. Buffet half board was just lovely. Fresh omelettes morning, and good food range evening. Very clean room and super helpful front desk service. Recommend.
As it usually happens in this part of the world, unfortunately, this hotel does not live up to a 4-star hotel expectations. It could be rated as a good 3-star though, and is fairly nice overall: nice an clean outside and in the hallways, much more dated inside with furnishings crying for replacement or at least a deep steam cleaning. Stunning view from the balcony though (sea side) with huge cruise ships passing by a few times a day and night (breath-taking !!!). Pool area is nice and clean too. Parking space is indeed limited, but we managed to find a space every day, so where not really affected by that.
As some other reviewers mentioned, getting to the beach might be a trick if you're not up to walking up and down steep stairs (the path leading to the beach has a looong stairway). I found it quite enjoyable though or at least useful as a nice daily exercise :).
Food was plentiful and mostly nice except for some odd dry and tasteless fish or another dish here and there (we had a half board). Three main reasons I can only give it 2 stars:
a) dinner drinks (again, it is a half-board): for crying out loud, not even water for free! I mean, it's expected to pay for your alcohol or any other 'fancy' soft drink, but all I wanted is plain water, yet you have to pay for that 'luxury' too. You can have it for breakfast, but god forbid, not for dinner - isn't that a lovely marketing trick?
b) EVERYONE is smoking around in public areas, and yes, that includes the room where you're trying to have a breakfast enjoying what is supposed to be a lovely morning breeze. No consideration given to anyone else, including children;
c) last, but definitely not least, extremely rude staff. For reference, I'm used to Eastern European style of servicing, i.e. I know that people are generally less 'smiley' and that's fine and expected. But being told off by a waiter for him making a mistake and bringing a wrong type of juice - that's a very different experience! And when I say 'told off', I mean literally that: he burst up in a 3-min speech in a loud angry voice (in front of a child as well) with very dramatic hand gestures. Luckily, I did not understand a word as he chose to do that in his native language rather than English, so I can only guess how humiliated and ashamed I should have felt for pointing out his mistake and not accepting what was not ordered. Don't remember his name by now, something like Srdjan or Srdan - a lot of consonants. In all the fairness, he was the only one remarkably bad like that, most of the staff were fairly adequate and even nice;
We spent 3 nights in this Hotel with my family. We booked family room with Halfboard. The room was big and clean. We loved the sea view room where every morning we had coffee on the balcony.
The breakfast was great and various. The dinner was delicious with super selection (chicken, fish, beef). The beach was close. I reccomend this place
We arrived here after a busy few days in Dubrovnik. Hoping for luxury. Firstly we were greeted by a rude member of staff who barely looked at us and practically threw us into our room.
Our room was tiny, I know we ordered an economy but it really was small. It was to a good standard and clean.
We were half board. Food was average, if not a bit samey. I was a bit weary of some of the meat as it looked like it had just been re- heated from the night before. Drinks were cheap.
The pool was the best part, clean and not overly busy- you could always get a lounger- which is brilliant in the summer!
There is a passage and steps down to the beach, quite a lot fine for us but, I think some people may find difficult. There’s lots of little beaches really close.
On the last night our main light broke and when I tried to plug in the side lamp, it tripped the whole hotels electrics! The room only had one plug which was annoying!
In summary this is ok for three nights max but, I wouldn’t want to stay for a week! I think there are much better hotels than this!
The hotel is more than pleasant. It is well situated and has a lovely pool and surrounding area. Our room was over two floors with two balconies facing the sea. The room was modern, bright and clean and well serviced. Reception and bar staff were welcoming and helpful. However, our experience was dampened (literally) by the restaurant position and provision. It seemed madness to go into an underground room with lack of fresh air and daylight when there is a lovely eating area above ground with a sea view!! Alfresco dining is always a winner with holidayers so I think the hotel is really missing an opportunity to please it's guests.
