The hotel is outside the town and is huge. The rooms are set around a series of large courtyards and it looks fantastic. Facilities are good but the service is patchy. This is run by the same people as the Alsisar Haveli in Jaipur and has the same good and bad points, but here the sink taps are so badly placed that the cold couldn't turn on as it was too close to the wall. Fantastic huge rooms, lots of marble and textiles, huge bed, our own private balcony with wonderful views, but no working cold tap.

Good location if you are going around the wildlife park - which everyone seemed to be doing here. That's good too.

You could just see the domes and cupolas, looking exotic and mysterious, shimmering in the setting sun as we drove over bushland to get to the hotel. Which was STUNNING. Although it is a modern building, it is built in the style of a Rajasthan palace. On our itinerary, our room was described as a Standard Room. Well - let me tell you, if that was standard, the suites must be out of this world. We were led through fountained courtyards and up a couple of flights of stairs and I was expecting to be in a janitor's cupboard. Imagine my delight to find not only a beautiful, huge room but also a private balcony looking out to the countryside and misty mountains. Heaven!
The whole hotel is breathtaking in appearance and it was wonderful to wander around - a feast for the visual senses.
I have to say the room was a bit on the chilly side due to the size and the tiled floor and could do with better heating in the winter but the bed was huge and comfy, the ensuite clean and well-equipped. There is no TV in the room but I did not find that a problem as it was lovely to sit outside on our balcony to read or just take in the scenery. There is a TV room in what is set up as an old-fashioned library. There is also free Wi-fi for guests.
The pool area looked lovely but as the pool was unheated and it was winter we did not indulge. Unfortunately, the gorgeous spa was out of action as that looked really nice.
The restaurant was glamorous and the food tasty and hot. It catered for more wide-ranging tastes than some of the other hotels we stayed in, probably because they have many overseas visitors.
Front Office staff were OK but could have been more helpful and the guy in charge of seeing off the guests on jeeps was utterly useless (see my report on the Ranthambore Safaris).

We were lucky enough to stay here for 4 nights on our tour of Rajasthan. When you drive off the road onto the track that leads to to hotel you have no real idea of what's in store until you leave the car and walk through the archway to find the reception - all we could all say was 'wow'!

This place is stunning on so many levels. Rooms are all individually we decorated and, to be honest, some could do with a bit of updating but they are all nicely furnished in an older style which is suitable for the hotel style. We were lucky enough to have room 306 which had a lovely balcony with table and chairs and overlooking one of the beautiful pools. Don't expect TV or mini bar in the rooms but there is free Wi-Fi everywhere.

The garden swimming pool is an oasis of calm with lovely natural shady areas and plenty of loungers, the larger pool with amazing marble carvings/statues has a large number of day beds but it can get really hot in this area.

The full board meals are mainly Indian but there are some continental choices at each meal, all food was of really good quality. The dining room is just amazing, hand painted ceilings at one end and mirrored mosaics at the other, we loved it.

Pre-booked safaris can be arranged by the hotel and you are collected at the hotel at approx 6am and the hotel lays on coffee and biscuits before you leave so you can enjoy breakfast when you come back.

We loved this hotel and were sorry to leave but we will definitely return!

This place is magnificent, easily one of the best hotels we have ever been.

We spent one night here, and wish we could stay longer.

It was my husband's birthday, and the manager helped me organise a lovely cake, wine and snacks on our balcony...candlelight private dinner overlooking the Ranthanbore park. Could not get any better really!

The grounds are outstanding, staff helpful and friendly. Good selection for breakfast and lunch, not so much for dinner but again, the setting is incredible.

A very special thanks to Mohan and Mr Sigh, they made our stay extra special and they are really worth a mention.
