Wow. We have just returned from our honeymoon at Le Mas en Provence and we couldn't be happier with our choice. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed into the calm and tranquil setting.
Sophie, our host, was incredibly warm and lovely. The location of the gites are completely perfect - you can take in some lovely walks nearby and are a very short drive to some local villages with wonderful restaurants.
Breakfast was absolutely delicious and plentiful - yoghurts, cheeses, fruit, plenty of yummy fresh break and pastries. Not to mention the fresh eggs from the onsite chickens who we were lucky enough to see taking their evening walks together!
Everything was beautifully clean and our room was a little haven with a wonderfully comfortable bed.
Do not hesitate booking - you won't regret it! We did not want to leave this little bubble of paradise.
Thank you again Sophie for an incredible stay :)
When the beloved hostellerie near Entrechaux, where we have stayed for 17 years, closed my wife and I feared that we would never match it for charm and rural tranquility but we were wrong! Le Mas is a lovely old Provencal farmhouse that Sophie and Didier have decorated and furnished with a great eye for style and comfort and the views across the vineyards to hilltop Entrechaux castle outlined against the sky and hills beyond are picture perfect. Our room was spacious and very comfortable and the view from the window, particularly by moonlight, was delightful. Sophie's welcome made us feel at home from first arrival and she was always willing to help with table reservations or suggestions of things to do. The breakfasts were generous, delicious and served in the charming and spacious dining/sitting room. Had the weather been warmer we would have breakfasted on the terrace which overlooks the large well tended garden with its pool and several distinct areas discretely furnished with small groups of sun loungers or chairs. We also enjoyed a delicious cold platter prepared by Sophie one evening.
Entrechaux is a charming village and an excellent base for visiting the sights of Vaucluse. We enjoyed old favourites like Vaison La Romaine and Crestet but a new discovery was a drive, suggested by Sophie, that took us via the Toulerenc valley and the beautiful hillside village of Brantes through the spectacular Gorges de la Nesque.
All in all it was a memorable visit and one that we will repeat for sure.
Thank you Sophie!
Le Mas en Provence is a charming B&B in the idyllic Provencale countryside. Here you don't get charm at the expense of comfort or convenience, Our room was large and very comfortable with stunning views of the surrounding rolling hills. The location is ideal: guests enjoy the tranquility of the rural setting but easy access to towns in the region such as Vaison la Romaine, Bedoin and Beaume de Venise where there is an abundance of excellent restaurants, weekly markets and other attractions.
Also charming is the proprietor Sophie Flinois who basically plays the role of a hotel concierge in recommending and making restaurant reservations, suggesting sights to see and the like. At less than 100 euros per night, including breakfast, Le Mas en Provence is truly a bargain. Highly recommended.
