Abundance of facilities at this expansive campsite. We loved the pool, lake, skate park, and restaurant. Well stocked shop. Good location on family friendly cycle track along which you can visit the villages of Zell em Ziller and Mayrhofen. Very busy in mid summer, close packed pitches.
We stayed here with friends and spent three days and were amazed. Apartments were very spacious and clean. Swimming pool on-site was a highlight for the kids and facilities were spick and span. There is a small supermarket on-site, although quite pricey so I would advise to just drive into town and stock-up at the regular supermarket. The restaurant had a good selection.
When we were there the "Western World" was under renovation. Our friends, who were there the year before, were impressed by it and mentioned their restaurant is great. Needless to say we were bummed out we could not try it out.
There is also a kids club there with guided as well as non-guided activities. As we went during low season, we had the entire indoor playground to ourselves. Activities for all ages offered.
We will definitely be back!
We stayed here for 4 nights and were very impressed with the top class facilities, cleanliness and comfort of the camp site. The sanitary blocks were very clean and spacious. Staff were extremely helpful - they waited for us to arrive after the office closed as we were stuck in traffic. With a huge swimming pool complex, lake swimming, mountain views and numerous sporting attractions we could have stayed here much longer. Restaurant food was good quality and big portion sizes. The only thing I would change is that the pitches for tents could be more shaded and private as it can feel over-crowded with many people.
As with all campsites, the actual accommodation is up to you. So let's start with the pitches. Not a bad size but packed in as is the style in Germany/Austria. But you've enough room for your car/camper and tent. People around us had problems with getting their caravans in but hey - your choise.
The site itself is big and very well kept. The toilets/showers/washing facilities - I've encountered far worse in hotels! All v clean and enough of them. There is a lot of stuff to keep kids amused - man-made lake, bouldering, play areas, indoor pool - without dipping into the pocket. You can pay for the climbing wall and a mass of other stuff but we didn't. Adjacent to the site is a wild-west theme park amusement show thingy. My the Austrians and germans go so much for the American west is a bit of a mystery (blame Old Shatterhand) but it does provide another range of eats/amusement for kids. The on site supermarket has enough of the usual camping needs (beer, bread, milk, BBQ food) but there is another supermarket 5 mins walk.
Should also mention the onsite restaurant which was fine.
All in all a v good base for a few days. But not for those you like wild-camping!
It's also v well situated to explore the Zillertal valley with rail and bus links as well as being close to the main road (which we didn't hear).
My family & I were super impressed with this campsite! There is everything onsite you need. Supermarket, restaurants, bars, pool, lake & very clean & fresh amenities. We were only going to stay one night but we stayed two! You could stay there for a week or two. It's like a resort. Highly recommend it, but book in peak seasons!
