The cabins are stone cabins out on the side of a valley and are awesome. The bathrooms are huge and the double shower very nice. The small pool area was a nice place to hang out. About the only negative would be the little bar by the pool wasn't open when we were there, but we brought our own so worked out fine. The chairs by the pool had a great view of the valley. The tiny dog that hangs out at the resort was a hoot, super friendly and had the run of the place. Breakfast was included and it was very excellent. Workers were super friendly and helpful. Nothing really to do in the immediate area since the resort is off by itself but it's a short ride to a couple small towns. We did take a nice long walk on the roads in the valley and enjoyed the scenery.
Last weekend myself and a couple of friends visited Lord's Guest Lodge. I have very special memories at the same place and I was really looking forward to spending some much needed time there with friends.
I am sad to say that I am shocked by the bad service, dis respectfullness to women, dirty facilities etc.
As we booked in pur house was still not made up after the previous guests left.Towels were lying around, dirty cups and glasses and unmade beds.
As the day moved on we wanted to spend some time by the pool but the manager never left us alone for a minute. Making some dirty jokes and also demonstrating to us how we should wash our private parts in the shower. Shocking! He also told us that we were very boring and not drinking enough. After a while he got angry at one of the ladies, threw his glass to pieces and stormed off. After that he passed out, or that is what one of the staff members told us, and we had to look for someone else who could help us with some of the arrangements we made via email with them for that evening.
His partner then stepped up to apologise and then told us he would be at our service for the rest of the night. He got just as nasty later on and told us we shouldgo to our rooms because we are disturbing his other guests. I just have to mention that none of us were in any way disorderly or drunk ( as we were encouraged to be earlier by his partner.)
All in all a terrible experience! Needless to say I would never return!
My partner surprised me with a romantic weekend away to Lord's and what a magnificent and special time it was!
The lodge is tucked away about 10 minutes drive from Robertson with exquisite views towards McGregor. The stone buildings and cottages blend in beautifully with the landscape and its an immsensely peaceful and relaxing environment.
We were lucky enough to stay in Grant Cottage and the added Scottish theme added a special touch with my Scottish heritage.
The Highlander bar is the perfect place to enjoy a pre-dinner drink with the hosts while overlooking the pool and valley. A quaint chapel is on site for weddings along with a conference venue. It definitely captured our hearts.
The Lady Grey Restaurant was outstanding. We enjoyed two delicious suppers and breakfasts there. The food is beautifully prepared and sublime, fresh and full of flavour.
Hosts Colin and Matt along with their staff are very welcoming and made our stay very memorable. We cannot say enough about the perfect weekend we had.
We will definitely be back soon
What a hidden GEM we found!!! This is such a beautiful tranquil place where you can just find yourself again and BREATH!!!! Breathtaking views. Restaurant have the most amazing food prepared by amazing chefs and all the personnel are so friendly and helpful! Love the attention to detail with the meals and even if you ask for water at the swimming pool they bring a jug with cucumber, mint leaves and lemon!!! LOOOOOOVE that!!! The lodges are roomy and the BEDS sleep like a dream! I have nothing negative to say, except that I missed my "standard guesthouse breakfast where you have your hot breakfast as well as your fruit yogurt and juice) You order from the menu one breakfast (which was delicious) But thats just a personal thing! Will still give them 5 STARS!!! Well done Matt and team!
We were almost the only guests in the lodge, the two nights we spent there. The service was great, the food good, pool nice. The wiew outstanding. The only thing was, the shower was in the bathtub and the water splashed on to the wooden floor. In a while this will become damaged.
