First things first, this place is heaven. The rooms are fabulous and supremely comfortable. It's present in a beautiful location surrounded by mountains. It has just enough amenities to let you have fun and keep you relaxed. I booked this place for my honeymoon with Valentine's week package.
The welcome drinks were spot-on, the best we've ever had. The food was great too, just one dish had slightly put us off, but that's perfectly okay. We enjoyed a game of pool and chess. Room service was prompt, and the staff was very polite and professional. The whole place has a charming vibe to it.
The good stuff ends here. Coming to things that can be improved, I am hard-pressed to point out that:
1. The sockets were loose. Our iPhone chargers kept popping out on their own.
2. My shoe size is 11, so the room slippers could accommodate 70% of my feet at best. An optional pair of slippers would have been great.
3. I could hear people talk from adjacent rooms, so noise isolation could be improved.
4. Some communication gap between the Sales team and the management forced us to go over everything covered under our package.
Overall, I was delighted with my stay and have recommended this place in my circle.
Cheers!
We planned for a week stay in this beautiful resort from 29th Jan to 5th Feb 2022. I checked the possibilities of snow fall on 3rd to 5th and planned our week long workation, school and holidays here.
The resort is a perfect setting.. in the middle of valley , surrounded by peaks...Since we were needing space for kids to attend school n college and office for both of us, I booked Chinar Villa, which is 2 bedroom villa in the resort. Its a perfect place for family with big lounge on ground floor with Kitchen and two beautiful bedrooms on 1st floor. Kitchen is not fully operative.
It has beautiful views and we were lucky to witnessed snowfall on 3rd to 5th Feb and after that its turned into fairytale scene.
Now coming to service...
I have taken 1 star out becuase of two reasons
1) wifi connectivity - these days it is must and speed is also important, when you are planning for workation of attending school. Also its not complex and costly.
Wifi speed is really bad and management should immediately work on that. I am my wife were mostly on mobile hotspot as was not able to join any VC calls..
Kids were also struggling.. for one or two days ok but for long stay its is must.
2) Breakfast menu- Breakfast buffet menu on most of days was not good, very limited options and not good options.. Even some of the basic food like stuffed Paratha was not there every day.
I would have given more than 5 star to this property but because of above taken 1 star away..
Will come back soon...
On 9-Jan I called front office to check the status of manali roads.. they informed car can reach till UR. So I trusted them and no made any prior arrangements.
I started at 3PM at shimla and reached manali (Near Green tax) at 5AM and understood Roads are bad and impossible for 2WD vehicles. Called resort at 5AM if anyone can help me to arrange transport to reach UR but the irresponsible responses surprised me.
Concerns/Experience:
Front office who answered my calls were not in a position to talk in English.
They want to cash my situation by saying 5000/- for transport arrangements. I was suffering in -10 at 5AM to enter manali and they were not concerned.
By the time I reach UR my hands freezed and not in a situation to write anything. They forced me to fill the details in register.
Finally i moved room (18) and surprised to see no heater in room. I continue to suffer in - temperatures and staff said no stock of heaters. Post my continues follow-up... heater provided after an hour.
Urvashi made an attempt to dig into issue but no result.
the view during snowfall is magical at urvashis retreat, it was like walking into a fairytale. its also the best in infrastructure across manali. we had a 3 night stay here and we had the best time. we were lucky to get snowfall during our stay and had booked a luxury room with a huge balcony. perfect to enjoy the view, they were nice enough to give an additional heater as we were feeling cold. very thoughtfully made elegant boutique property. food was alright, surely a lot of scope for improvement. very happy with the staff, everyone was quite helpful. definitely booking this for any future visits to manali.
If you're considering to book Urvashi Resorts for your stay in Manali, you won't regret it and would be pleasantly surprised about how there's no difference between the pictures and the actual property.
I was there for Christmas and I would like to break down all the good and bad parts or my stay.
PROS:
Breakfast Quality - Great breakfast. You might look forward to it.
Views - Architecture wise the resort is made in a way that every room has a great mountain view.
Distance from popular spots - Solang Valley, Sissu, Vashisht all are nearer from the hotel
Property size - It's a decently big property
Bedding quality - great mattress, clean sheets, warm blankets, soft pillows. All 10/10
Staff politeness - Reception staff sometimes seem a little clueless. But the housekeeping women army are the sweetest.
Toiletries - Conditioner, Shampoo, Shower Gel and Lotion would already be there (which would have an amazing fragrance btw) dental kit or anything extra would be available on request.
Room Service - Excellent
Wi-Fi - Good speedy Wi-Fi
Cleanliness - Extremely clean room and bathroom
Amenities - Bathroom had a make-up mirror, hair dryer. Room had multiple charging ports.
Room Heating - We were provided with not 1 but 2 room heaters of different variety by default.
Room Size - The room was so big that the Deluxe rooms felt like Premium rooms
Electricity - Electricity supple was almost always available. We had no issues
NEUTRAL INFO:
Bath Tub - Not available in Deluxe rooms
Exceptional Co-operation - The reception staff was a little lost so I wouldn't say we received any exceptional cooperation in that sense
CONS:
Bathroom Heating - There was a giant geyser available and hot waters was always available BUT there was no heater in the bathroom
Mobile Charging - Mobile charging was bit of an issue. Especially with OnePlus chargers. I hope they fix their ports.
Driver Amenities - Our driver did complain about lack of amenities for him
Restaurant Quality - Little expensive but food quality was amazing.
