My friend and I stayed here for over two weeks. It is a beautiful, beautiful place run by incredibly lovely people who felt like family by the time we left (Hi auntie, we miss you!!).

Everyday we did yoga with a view of the mountains, swam in the chilly pool, went for walks on the local trails, sat on the balcony reading, and eating the most amazing home cooked food (this was one of my favourite parts!!!). The hike up to ridgemoor was epic too, amazing views up there so well worth doing. The whole stay was good for the soul. We were so well looked after, and really hope we can come back and visit again some day.

Thanks again for the most wonderful stay- highlight of my time in India.

The kind of hospitality the Dhami family provides is so fantastic you never want to go home! Staying at the Orchard Hut offers a truly authentic and beautiful experience that captures everything you would want from a trip to the Himalayas- peace and quiet, a place to relax and rejuvinate in a natural healthy environment away from the noisy towns - (which means a bit of a walk up the hill, but it's worth it!) an amazing selection of home-cooked local food with flavour but not over spiced, trekking options whatever your level of fitness, yoga and meditation, a natural spring pool to take a cleansing dip, visit the local Chamba town, then come home to a comfy bed with soft pillows. The whole Dhami family combine a high level of education and modernity with humble down to earth family values and treat their guests with such warmth and respect you will never want to leave! The other tourist locations of Manali and Dharamsala are full of tourists and garbage and could easily be missed off your itinerary in favour of a longer stay at Orchard Hut.

The Orchard experience in Chamba starts with an amazing ride up into the mountains, a short trek by foot and a very warm welcome. The family takes care of their guests as if they were part of the family. They offer superb view, all organic food and springwater even in the pool, organized treks and all the information you need for your next destination with or without their service of taxi and guide. Love is all around here, you just have to reach out for it.

What a beautiful and peaceful spot. If you're looking to get away from it all and just enjoy the most spectacular scenery this is the place. The Dhami family own and operate this little oasis in the foothills of the Himalayas. While the hike up to the homestay may not be for the physically challenged, it does guarantee you will not hear any traffic once there - only the sound of the river and birds. Lots of hiking options, a refreshing pool, wonderful home cooked meals, clean and comfortable rooms and very accommodating hosts. Even wifi if you absolutely must.

Well its been exactly a month since i drove to Chamba with my wife and cousins from Delhi...My cousins wanted a break from their hectic work life and they zeroed on this place to stay in Chamba...For me personally, it was all about the experience of driving on the hills which i wanted to do...so after a 11 hour journey, with the coordination from Mr. Dhamiji (owner) of the property, we reached the foothills of ORCHARD HUTS.
Once you reach the foothills, you will have to go through a trek of about 20 minutes uphill (don,t worry there are people to guide and carry your bags) ...i was bragging initially Y do i have to do this, but once you complete the trek...all the hardwork will vanish within a second and breeze will bring a smile on your face.

Dhamiji and his wife greeted us with a traditional welcome which was very informative. Nice rooms with no-wifi, no t.v. and cool rooms (yes u don't need a fan)....If you want to relax, then this is the place as there is peace. Nature will be the only disturbance with the birds and our lovely POINTY (star of Orchard huts). A nice pool and the best is the homemade food. Mrs Dhamiji - amazing food.....its been a month now..and i think i need to comeback to stop my craving,,,,

other members of the house are equally cordial and enough freedom to enjoy and relax with other activities (you should also make a note that freedom to enjoy doesn,t mean anything, you have to respect the house also).

The hills all around you, drinking beer with Dhamiji and his sons, was also one to remember. Never spent so much time talking to someone in person , (thanks to whatsapp and facebook.)

Well i was definitely refreshed and happy that we chose Orchard hut and would surely be back there once again if we happen to come back to Chamba.

Positive and refreshing feeling is the result of a stay with Orchard hut. Thanks Dhamiji, Aunty, Nitin, Naveen, and Pointy.
