With Winter approaching we were looking for a short break in Barbados. As we were limited to a week we thought it best to visit somewhere we knew so as to hit the ground running. We had visited The Sugar Cane Club in 2017 and had an excellent holiday. Our only reservation about this trip was the danger that it wouldn't live up to our expectations. How wrong could we be! The Club has still managed to maintain its previous high standards. We were all inclusive and the food, drink and evening entertainment was all very good. Their main asset though is the great service and friendly staff...from the General Manager through the whole team, head gardener, spa personnel, bar staff, glass bottom boat "captain", even the staff who cleaned our room. Thanks to them all!

We have been home a week now and over the Jetlag so felt it time to reflect on our stay at this wonderful hotel. One of this best we have stayed at in Barbados.

Room. We were up graded to sea view. Ok it was 501, but we were up when the kitchen fan started and it went off at 10 pm. So fine as we never spent lots of time in the room. Kept very clean. Just the towels need replacing very thin after first day. The same with pool towels.

Restaurant. Good selection all day. Best food we have had in Barbados. My only disappointment was the lack of decent coffee on all inclusive, as discussed with Stephen the food and beverage Manager, a coffee bar would be great. He says they intend to include one.

Drinks. Ok ,but lack of sparkling wine unless you brought a bottle.

Beach. We went there nearly everyday. Great snorkelling. Nick looks after you. But some debate about who was responsible for cleaning the beach area we used. Glass bottom boat trip a must do. The General knows where the turtles feed.

Pool. Clean and warm. Lovely area to sit in the afternoons, the monkeys arrive about 4. Cold towels and ice lollies a nice touch

Spa. Beautiful, had two treatments ,Virgin holiday treats. Lovely.

Staff. Excellent. General Manager Tricia and Stephen available and very hands on. Ryan always very polite, would like to say thank you to all of them.Tip envelope available so no one is missed out.

Many returners so it shows how good the hotel is. We met lots of lovely fellow guests. Entertainment only three nights when you eat round the pool. Would be nice if a few more nights. If you like a laid back holiday with shuttles to a beautiful beach , with good food and excellent service do not hesitate to book.

Our first time to this hotel. Meet with a drink and a warm welcome. Shown to our room. Staff brought our cases. Next day they offered a walk around the property and explained we're every thing was including the green monkey lounge which is wonderfully cool and has showers for your last day if your flight later in the day. All the staff are friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble.good was plentiful and lovely. They would serve lunch in the restaurant or serve you around the pool of you so wished. The only area that needs looking at is the Chattel house restarunt. It is a little too dark so you cannot see your food and on the night we went good not so good. Shame because it could be wonderful with a little more attention. I love the atmosphere there. The room we was in was 116. It overlooked the rain forest. If you like the wild life this is defiantly the room for you.. The spa was lovely had a couple of massages and a manicure.

Stayed at the sugar cane hotel 3/10 thru 11/10 in room 103, this was our second visit the first being back in 2016.Always a little reluctant in going back to a hotel where you’ve had such a wonderful time but within seconds of check in all my fears were laid to rest. Such a wonderful hotel but what makes this special is the staff, so friendly, caring and nothing is too much trouble, even down to the gardeners who would stop for a chat and wish you a good day, I could name one or two employees who were excellent but that would be unfair to the rest of whom I only had brief contact with. The food was excellent, the entertainment was really good and the grounds are immaculate. As in the other reviews I cannot recommend this hotel enough. If you want to be totally spoilt this is the place for you

Another wonderful holiday at the SCC. Tracia and her fantastic team run this hotel seamlessly. From the minute you walk up to the front desk until the moment you leave everyone makes you feel special.
The rooms are spotlessly clean and beds very comfortable, the gardens and pool area are a real credit to Rodney and his team.
As always it was lovely to see so many of the staff we know, special mention to Tracia, Tameshia, Ryan, Michelle, Ricardo, Sharon and Neil, in fact all the lovely staff in the kitchen, dining room, housekeepers and gardeners.
Thanks to the lovely spa team for the best back massage and manicure.
It was also great to meet Stephen the new food and beverage manager.
We are now trying to lose the weight we put on with all the wonderful food and cocktails!
Once again we walked down to the local beach most mornings before breakfast for a pleasant swim before it got too hot.
All in all another wonderful holiday with our SCC friends. Thankyou.

Questions & answers about the rooms

Been once in October. Was more humid but the sea temperature was like being in a warm bath and some days were too windy to get small boats out. Still hurricane season October. We are going November this year 2019. Hope for good weather

We had a late flight back from Sugar Cane last October and asked to keep our room. They can only do it if it is possible, depending on how many rooms are needed and what time the next guests are due etc, and there was a fee to keep the room for late check out but it was worth it so we could make the most of the last day. They were good and you could still eat and drink for the rest of the day until you left too.

No , all rooms are within short walking distance of bars,

Sorry seen this late. We stayed in a one bedroom with an adjoining door. We think when the door is open that that becomes a two bedroom suite. In which case two bathrooms. Sorry to be vague but its a couple of years since we went.
