If you are looking for something off-beat, in the Kumaon region in the Himalayas, but not the usual "Mall road" type hill station, then bingo, you have reached the right place at the Faraway Renz.
We had planned a 2 night stay at Faraway Renz after a 2 night stay inside Corbett, and we feel it was the best decision as we ended up extending by one more day and we are so glad we did that. The road to the resort is very scenic and when you reach the place you get breathtaking scenes all around the place. A treat for bird and nature lovers, and also for stargazers.
A special mention about the hospitality from Mr. Manoj and Mr. Deepu. Vegetarian Food and snacks were delicious and were served piping hot. The corner cottage that we had booked was a cosy place with lawn in the front where you get a 270° view of the valley and hills. The room was well provided with all amenities.
On the whole a perfect stay, truly "Faraway" from the hustle bustle of the towns and cities. We give Faraway Renz a perfect 10.

To escape the weekend curfew in Delhi and to liven up the family bonding , our family of 4( me, my wife Shakun , daughter Kritika visiting from Hong Kong & son Arpan , decided almost impromptu to discover this amazing place called FARAWAY Renz and left from Delhi on a very foggy morning of 21/01/2022( for 4 nights ) by our car - piloted by my longtime driver Rakesh who is from Himachal Pradesh & is always ready for such gateways !

Run by Rishi & his wife Nidhi , this property is a gem tucked away in a sparsely populated village some 30 KM before Ranikhet in Uttarakhand, overlooking a beautiful valley with fascinating view of the distant mountains and certainly a go-to place if one is looking for solace and reinventing oneself !

The views from our Cottages were mesmerizing ,with floating clouds , a reluctant Sun , the mystery Moon and pattering of raindrops over the roof of our room - some of which ,me , the amateur photographer , tried to capture through my smartphone !

The team of Prem & Dippu , took good care of us with lovely food with special mention of the Mutton Curry by chef Jaswant ! Afterall , satisfaction of the stomach is mutually inclusive of satisfaction of the soul !!

Our trip got really more exciting when Rishi ( my junior from IIT Bombay) arrived with his wife Nidhi & son Chinmoy with Games , music ( played by my son - he had carried his guitar) , bonfire , stories from the past & some animated discussions !

A wonderful experience !!!

Stayed for 2 nights at the Bungalow with senior citizens. Was very lucky that I had a clear view of the snow clad peaks for full one and a half day right from the living room and a thousand stars under clear sky at night.
Located on the slopes and its a 5/5. Food is 5/5 , I was served nice homely food. Rooms (The bungalow) 4/5 reducing 1 point just because there is a room for improvement towards crispness. Cleanliness :5/5. Staff: 5/5
Dinning area: 4/5
An important thing for first time visitors, please not that this isn't a full frills Luxury hotel. Its a place where the staff tries their level best to serve your needs. Surprisingly the whole place is run by a 5 member staff team, who are always smiling. The co-owner Mr.Rishi is very helpful and cooperative person and approachable, if you have any doubts just ask him.
Over all i enjoyed my stay.
ROOM TIP: Senior citizens or people with mobility issues or leg problems should only choose Bungalow as it is on same level of dining and a more bigger flat area.
The other type of rooms require a ramp to walk and the floor is of cemented stone.

Simple but warm could be the two words that could describe "Faraway Renz". Yes it's far away from the hustle bustle of the city landscape.

We a bunch of old haggards, all 50 plus (all male) travelled to the resort to spend some time in the lap of nature to have a pure relaxed ambiance. we achieved what we wanted.

Prem Singh welcomed us along with his team in the evening, we reached around 7,30 in the evening, No formal check in as such, but very warm reception.

Rooms have all basic amenities, nothing luxurious but very comfortable . TV with satellite connection is there, (4G connection is also there). Hot water is available with in room geysers. And rugged stony decor perfectly matching furniture gives your stay a very different feeling.

Quick freshen up and our sojourn at Faraway Renz starts.. Dinner as per your wish.. No, you wouldn't be getting lobster or fish & chips or steaks, but delicious home made excellent food with all veg or non veg preferences. All served hot, with a passion to delight you. Mind you all our tantrums were handled, always with a smile. Mind you we had dinner around 11 pm.....(pretty late in hill standards) no complaints, always smiling.

Breakfast. whatever you wish.. again pork-sausages will not be there, but bread, omlette, paratha, sabji.... as per your wish

Do not expect 2 Qutab Minars, 3 Taj Mahals etc, if you really want to master "THE ART OF DOING NOTHING" spend some time in Faraway Renz.

Thanks a lot - team FARAWAY RENZ.

My husband found this property by chance when he googled Resorts near Nainital. It was the perfect getaway for us as we were bonding as a family after 2 years.. my children are working now, and busy in their own lives.
We had booked the 2 bedroom Bungalow and it was amazing with lovely view of the hills !! The Usp of this place is the personal touch ,be it food or the personal interest taken by Rishi to show us around the Village . He even took us for a walk to the nearby jungle. We had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is fond of the outdoors and wants to stay in a Home away from Home!!
Thanx Rishi for making our stay so memorable !!
