We were here for an extended visit. The room was clean, and the beds very comfortable. We got one with fridge and microwave. Seems like the room may have been recently renovated. A/C worked very well, and our room had a view of the famous Yukon River. Like a lot of places in the far north, they were experiencing a bit of a staffing shortage. This didn’t really affect us. Conveniently located, and all staff were very friendly. Some may say it’s overpriced, my reply: “Have you looked at prices of hotels in the Yukon?’ To me it was about average price, and way better in cleanliness and room quality than many other places we stayed. I recommend it.

Thank for the great review! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and found your room quality and cleanliness better than many. We have been working diligently over the last few years to make many upgrades and improvements for our clients comfort. Staff shortages have been worse than ever lately in the north with the labour shortages experienced across Canada unfortunately. We have had difficulty managing to keep up with everything and it is good to know that it did not affect you and staff remained friendly despite. Thank you for recognizing that our rates are essentially average for the Yukon. It does cost significantly to build, renovate, operate and maintain such facilities in Yukon and rural Yukon is only more costly than Whitehorse. We hope that if you are in our area again in future we will be able to be of service to you!

Great place to stay between Whitehorse and Dawson City. Check-in was fast and easy. Beds and pillows were comfortable although one of the beds did have a disturbing amount of hair on it. Looks like the bathrooms have been updated. The water in the shower has a strong sulfur smell. Window AC did cool the room.

Thank you for your review. We will review the cleanliness of the rooms with our housekeeping staff based on your comments. With new staff on board perhaps there are gaps in the job performance and inspections. We do strive to provide clean rooms. Yes the water continues to have issues due to high levels of minerals in the ground well water. This has been a struggle for us and the community as a whole for decades. The water is however potable and poses no health issues. We do hope that we will see you again in future if travelling through our area.

We stayed here for one night. The room was comfortable and clean. We checked in at the bar as the reception was closed.

Unfortunately, there was a really foul smell coming for the drains. We reported this but apparently this happens sometimes.

The rooms were pricey compared to other, better quality rooms in Whitehorse. However, comfortable and clean.

The bar is well stocked. However, some of the locals are quite intimidating as they seemed to get quite drunk and loud in the evening and the outside in the morning.

There is a well stocked store just across the parking lot.

Came in in the wee hours of the morning, were quickly checked in and settled. Room on bottom floor for easy access. Could open window for fresh air. Quiet. There was no continental breakfast but right across the parking lot was a restaurant affiliated with the Hotel. It was in an older building but quaint and the food was really good.

We stopped on our way from Whitehorse to Dawson City after spending the day at the Takhini hot springs and the wild life preserve. We weren't prepared for the heat and no aircon in the room-so hot!The carpet was absolutely filthy with ground in dirt, apart from that there really isn't anywhere else to stay, also on the night the 2 restaurants were closed due to unforseen circumstances (same cook)-thank goodness the shop was still open and we were able to get a hot chook and bread rolls/Pretty sure we were charged premium due to travel agent booking us in.Keep in mind if you are on the second floor you have to carry those suit cases upstairs

I apologize for such a late response. I am sorry your room was too hot. We have had issues with this in a few of our rooms on the lower floor since an upgrade to our heating system which has caused excess residual heat. Providing air conditioning to correct the issue is a consideration though an extremely expensive one that will require an upgrade to our main building electrical service to complete. We are working to find an affordable option to correct the situation. I find it difficult to comment on the remarks about the carpet in the room as all of our carpets in the rooms were recently replaced with new carpets and we regularly undertake steam cleaning of the carpets. Upon inspections of our rooms we did not find the situation you describe perhaps if there was an issue it was found and corrected shortly after. As far as the restaurant closure we had one day in the past summer when we closed unexpectedly due to a discharge of the fire extinguishing system in the kitchen that required a complete cleanup. If you experienced a closure it could only have been then. We do normally remain open 7 days a week year round with the exception of three days per year for our customers. I am sorry that you happened to find our service closed during your stay.
