Points of Interest

1. 1. Start of Trail

Turn west off of Highway 279 just after Jug Handle Arch. Road is wide at first, but narrows as you climb.

2. 2. First Switchback

First of two big switchbacks. Great views looking back down canyon.

3. 3. Giant Fallen Rock

Drive under giant fallen rock.

4. 4. Pucker Pass

Canyon narrows significantly as you start up through Pucker Pass. Conditions vary depending on how recently maintenance has been done on the trail.

5. 5. West End of Trail

At this point Long Canyon Road is a wide gravel road. Here it connects to paved Highway 313. Left goes to Dead Horse Point State Park. Right goes to Canyonlands National Park or back to Highway 191 and Moab.
