Points of Interest

1. Parking

Park here and walk across the street to the trailhead. It is free to park here.

2. First View

Your first view from the trail over a scree slope.

3. Coopey Falls

Lower Coopey Falls. From here you can look down into the woods at the 150' lower Coopey Falls.

4. Upper Coopey Falls

A short trail to the base of the upper falls. Directly above the falls is a footbridge over the creek.

On this switchbacking trail up to the lookout you will have great views over the Columbia and towards your destination.

6. Short Cut Trail

Here we found a shortcut trail that involved some boulder scrambling up to the top. We thought it was the trail but actually it was just a foot trail that was harder than we thought... You can keep going to loop around to the summit if you want or give it a try like we did by taking a left at this boulder field.

7. Bench

At this side of the overlook is a bench and you can walk down some rocks to get a view down to the trail you headed up on. Great views from here!

8. Another Viewpoint

Here is another spot at the top with great views down to the Columbia. Behind you is a long lava rock ridge that you will follow to loop back around and head back down the way you came. This is the actual way up to the top that you could have skipped from POI #6.

9. Last Views

Climb up the rocks of the ridge for some last views towards the Angel's Rest Viewpoint then head right down the trail from the ridge to loop back towards teh Columbia and downward.
