About Katie C
Lives in Edwards, Colorado
Since Aug 2011
Though I'm currently living in Colorado, my true home is the South. I lived in South Carolina, Georgia and Florida, which instilled a love of southern beach towns like Myrtle Beach, Orlando and Charleston. I live near Panama City Beach for part of the year and have spent many memorable nights in locations like Key West and New Orleans. Diver, hiker, climber, craft beer aficionado, snowboarder, fisherman...I'm up for anything at least once.

Walt Disney World is perhaps the number one reason why people visit Orlando — and for several good reasons. Packed with activities and entertainment for children of all ages, it's easy to spend multiple days here without getting bored. From traveling the world at Epcot to communing with animals at the Animal Kingdom, the only question is what to see first!
Movie buffs will feel at home at Universal Studios Florida in Orlando; while those wanting to experience their movie dreams with a bit more action will enjoy Universal Studios' Islands of Adventures. From experiencing the Wizarding World of Harry Potter (make sure to remember your wand!) to riding along with The Simpsons, there's a little magic for everyone to experience here.
SeaWorld is the perfect place for animal lovers, featuring rides (including roller-coasters), shows, and all species of marine animals. You'll get the chance to see the denizens of the sea up close too, through various activities like feeding dolphins and petting stingrays and sharks. All in all, it's a whale of a good time!
If you're looking for a taste of classic Florida, look no further. The 'Alligator Capital of the World,' Gatorland has been attracting visitors for more than 60 years, and is home to a variety of alligators and crocodiles — including some very rare white alligators.
This beautiful park is located smack dab in the center of Orlando, providing a quiet oasis from the hustle and bustle of theme parks. Go on a Sunday and enjoy the farmer's market, pack a picnic and take a leisurely stroll, or head out on the water in a beautiful swan boat. It's a welcome respite from what can be at times, a crazy family vacation.
One of the most popular streets in Orlando, it's no surprise that International Drive is also a great place to visit with kids as there are a huge number of things to see and do here. From Ripley's Believe it or Not to WonderWorks to activities like laser-tag — plus tons of great restaurants — it's a great option after you've tired of the theme park scene.
Let your kids explore with their imagination here at the Orlando Science Center, and maybe even take away a little learning while on vacation. With four floors of exhibits, including a dinosaur dig and hands-on science experiments, as well as rotating exhibits, giant screen movies and engaging live programming, the Orlando Science Center is the perfect family destination.
If you feel the need — the need for speed — head to Fun Spot! Bringing to mind a county fair filled with plenty of rides plus four go-kart tracks, Fun Spot is the optimal location to escape to with the family. Take a ride on the Ferris Wheel or try out the brand new roller-coaster, before washing down the adrenaline with an ice cold soda and a funnel cake.
