Points of Interest

1. Bangor Street Trailhed for Carter-Moriah Trial

This trailhead is sort of in a neighborhood. Just find an appropriate place to park. There is a parking fee of $3 per day here. Keep your eye out for moose on your way to and from the trailhead at dusk & dawn.

2. Mt. Surprise

Not much to see here but it does mark the official start of the Moriah ridge climb once you descend it. You'll know you are close when you start ascending large slabs of granite in the trail. If it is wet these may be slippery. You'll also pass by a very large glacial erratic boulder left over since the last ice age called Quimby's Pillow. ... More

3. Mt. Moriah Summit

Some nice views from here. Unfortunately for me it was cloudy the day I climbed.
