You've probably seen Trevi Fountain in a movie like "Roman Holiday" or "Gidget Goes to Rome" or maybe you've heard "Three Coins in A Fountain" which is about this incredible fountain. Regardless, in my opinion this is a must-see when in Rome. When you're here be sure to throw your coins in so you'll get to come back to Rome!
This beautiful piazza is where seemingly everyone visits when in Rome. There are plenty of sidewalk cafes for people watching and the fountains are incredible. It seems as though we always make new friends when visiting Piazza Navona.
This church was begun in 1605 as a chapel dedicated to Saint Paul but was rededicated to Saint Mary after the Catholics won the battle of White Mountain. The church is absolutely beautiful and has many treasured works of art, not the least of which is Bernini's "Ecstasy of Saint Theresa".
It seems as though every visitor to Rome comes here to see and be seen. Thousands of people flock here to relax and watch the crowds. We typically just lounge on the steps and enjoy seeing people from all over the world.
The engineering and architecture here are simply amazing. To think that this stadium was built almost two thousand years ago simply blows my mind! I could wander this building for hours, but unfortunately, we could only spend a couple of hours here.
