Things to do

  • 1. Coconut Bay Resort & Spa
Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa, Vieux Fort, Vieux Fort Quarter

Great place for family or couples. Met a lot of wonderful people. Staff was helpful. Room was basic, clean and comfortable.

  • 2. Piton Snorkeling

Took a private tour to snorkel at Jalousie Beach (part of Laderra Hotel). Very majestic. Saw lots of fish, no turtles though...you have to go near sandals resort for that.

  • 3. Diamond Botanical Gardens
Diamond Botanical Gardens, Soufriere, Soufriere Quarter

Heard lots of complaints that this wasn't worth it. We loved it. It was $5 USD to get in and see the gardens. Some history here too with Napolean Boneapart. Didn't go in the mineral baths, but was nice to see anyway. Diamond Falls was at the end too, which we thought was beautiful.

  • 4. La Soufriere Drive-In Volcano
La Soufriere Drive-In Volcano, St. Lucia, Caribbean

Again, we loved this. Heard lots of negative feed back and wasn't worth the money. Not sure if people were actually expecting to drive into an active volacano and there lies the dissapointment? You could see the sulphur steaming and the pools bubbling, the black mineral water. (and the sulphur smell!) $5 USD to get in.

  • 5. Zip Line - Tree Top Adventure Park

We did the ZipLine in St Lucia and just loved it. This park was near Dennery. Sadly, I can't find anything on the web for this. But, the park was very safe. You are double hooked to 2 lines, and then a 3rd safety line is attached to the lower zipline. A very safe place to zip line in. Our guides were great, one, Chris sticks out in my mind because his fun loving demeanor, made it even more fun. He also took pics and video with our camera for us, which as awesome.

  • 6. Day Taxi Trip

We met another couple at our resort, and decided to book a private day tour for the 4 of us thru one of the representatives that comes to the hotel each morning from Birch Travel. The taxi bus took us from our hotel to Soufriere where we stopped to see the volcano and botanical gardens mentioned above. From there he took us to a water taxi that drove us up the coast to Castries (the capital and cruise ship port) for a couple hours of shopping. (you need 2 - and I'm not a shopper) Duty free shops are at Point Seraphine. Water taxi driver met back up w/ us, and took us back to Sourfreire to meet our taxi driver who had us back to our hotel in time for dinner. Both the taxi and water taxi driver told us about and showed us the natural beauty of the island as we passed by. For example, the water taxi took us thru the tunnel of love, showed us bat caves, and drove slow by the black sand beaches, while the taxi driver also pointed out points of interest like Laderra hotel and banana platations. Tips are well deserved for the drivers and appreciated very much by them.
