I've seen the light.
I live in Bruges, work in the hotel business, so I should actually start visiting all the places so I can give advice to people visiting West-Flanders.

  • 1. Talbot House, Poperinge, Belgium

During the Great War, Poperinge was part of unoccupied Belgium.
Away from the turmoil of battle in the Ypres Salient, the town developed into the nerve centre of the British sector.
    Talbot House became the heart.
This was a home away from home for everybody.
The sole is still there and everybody who wants to feel a glimpse of how life was, should visit this place.
This is not a normal museum, people stay here, can drink a cup of tea and get to meet other people.
Just how it was all those years ago.

  • 2. In Flanders Fields Museum
In Flanders Fields Museum, Ieper (Ypres)

This museum shows with texts, pictures, things and sounds what a horror World War I was and keeps it in everyone's mind that this shouldn't happen again.
Even the most unsensitive person get chills at least once.

  • 3. Groeninge Museum
    Groeningemuseum, Bruges
