Bali Indonesia - the real "Heaven on earth"

I just returned from Bali A beautiful Island one can visit all round the year although there are months with more rain than others. It is advisable to stay in Ubud as a base for touring the island, a very pleasant and interesting small town or big village in terms of Bali. Many art galleries, A market, Ubud palace, Rivers and brooks, Rice fields if you just go behind the main streets and many dance performances I saw "Barong (dragon-lion)" "legong" & "Kecak and fire dance". Very interesting . I enjoyed the "Legong" most of all. If you are lucky as I was You will be able to participate in a cremation ceremony a very colorful & outstanding experience for western eyes.
From my outstanding experience I also recommend:-

1. "Waka Land Cruise" I got to see many spectacles you can't see if taking an ordinary tour or driver . The tour covers the middle part of the Islands enabling to see the secret treasures of the area, the vehicle climbs over 900 meters of mount Batukaru there you are served a delicious Balinese lunch - 17 main courses and 2 deserts in a lovely atmosphere.

2. Two days at least in Lovina area which was not crowded with tourist while I was there. Some of the things you should visit in the are Munduk waterfalls & the Buddhist monastery "Brahama arama Vihara" in Bajar village. The temple on lake Bertan "Ulundananu- Bertan".

3.Just to look at the way of living - walking through villages and there are many around Ubud. Admire the way they prepare the offerings for their Gods & Goddesses every day & for special occasions. From my experience - every day is a reason for a celebration & ceremony.

4. The Balinese people are warm and friendly, ready to answer your questions in the little English they know and really try to please you.

5. When visiting a Temple "pura" - You should were a Sarong - a cloth that resembles a tablecloth. You will be persuaded to buy one practically everywhere especially near the public temples. (every village has 3 public temples & ancestral temples).

In conclusion:-
Bali is "heaven on earth" in my opinion because of the combination of beautiful scenery -volcanic sacred mountains, the wonderful colors - those of the people - their attire, the offerings they prepare and carry to the temples and back home, the decorations mostly made of raw materials & those of the nature - various trees, a deep green everywhere, flowers, water of every possible kind, rice paddies; and wonderful kind and pleasant people who lead a peaceful life. It is a place were children still enjoy playing outside games and help their parents with their tasks.

Enjoy a Balinese lunch in our bamboo restaurant deep in the rainforest high on the mountain.

  • 3. Tenganan Pegeringsingan

Tenganan is one of several ancient villages in Bali, which is usually called "Bali Aga". There are some versions of story telling us the history of Tenganan village. Some say that the word Tenganan was derived from the word "tengah" or "ngatengahang" which means "move to the inner area".
Tenganan Pegeringsingan is situated at Manggis district, approximately 65 km from Denpasar (the International Airport of Bali). It is near Candidasa and can be easily reached by public or private vehicles.

  • 4. Basakih - "mother temple"

Called the "Mother Temple," Basakih is Bali's premier Hindu site.
The compound is a collection of 22 multitiered temples that look like Chinese pagodas. They're more interesting for their significance to Balinese culture than for their architectural qualities. This is a working temple complex, with each compound attended by families.
