Arriving at Noida, India

Cheap flights to Noida bring you to the eastern edge of New Delhi. Located across the banks of the Yamuna river, Noida forms a part of the Delhi NCR region. For all practical purposes, Noida is a part of Delhi and is extremely well connected to the main city. Cheap flights to Noida land at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, located roughly 33 kilometres away. After your flight lands at the IGI airport, you can book a taxi from the prepaid taxi counters at the airport itself that will take you to the city. A cheaper alternative is to take the recently constructed metro from the airport that runs all the way across the city to Noida, although you will have to change trains at least twice to reach your destination. There is also a well equipped bus service that runs from the airport to Noida.

Getting Around Noida, India

Noida flights bring you to a vibrant urban centre that has a large, if chaotic, public transport system. Getting around after Noida flights is easy with several options at your disposal, including a newly constructed metro system, a public bus service and private taxis/auto-rickshaws. The metro is the easiest and most affordable way to get around Noida. The same metro also runs through New Delhi, which is a major plus.

Noida's bus system is well-equipped with private as well as public buses plying the roads. Buses connect virtually every part of the city. Travel via bus is extremely cost-effective but can be unsafe for single travellers late at night. The alternative to buses is taxis which can be found throughout the city. For smaller distance, rickshaws are also a viable means of transport. Taxi drivers often inflate fares, so be prepared to bargain aggressively before setting off on your destination.

Main attractions in Noida India

Noida is defined by its proximity to New Delhi and should be seen largely in relation to the capital city across the river. Noida itself has little to offer of historical or cultural value. It's primary attraction remains the plentiful green cover and the (slightly) relaxed pace of life compared to New Delhi. Nonetheless, Noida is a wonderful place to kickstart your exploration of Delhi's rich architectural and cultural heritage. The stunning Akshardham Temple, located on the banks of the Yamuna river, is a major tourist draw, as is the Lotus Temple, one of the few Bahai worship centres in the world. Delhi's Mughal era monuments, including the 17th century Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Humayun's Tomb, Qutab Minar and Old Fort are other prominent tourist attractions. The imposing India Gate situated in the heart of Delhi is also barely half an hour away from Noida.

The plentiful dining options in Noida will delight any foodie. There is a wide variety of cuisines to choose from, from authentic Indian and Indo-Chinese to Italian and Mexican. Even more dining options are available at a stone's throw away across the river in New Delhi. Desi Vibes is an excellent stop for modern Indian cuisine, while Mandarin Trail is a great place to sample Indian influenced Chinese. Fortune Inn Grazia and Radisson Blu MBD are also two popular spots for grabbing a bite while in Noida.
