Arriving in Agra

Locating cheap flights to Agra -- the city most known for the Taj Mahal -- is possible for those travelling to the area. This city is in the northern portion of Uttar Pradesh, about 193 kilometres from Delhi. To access the city, most travellers purchase direct Agra flights, which takes them into the Kheria Airport (IATA) in Agra; however, this airport is only seasonally available. The two main airlines providing service to this airport are Air India Regional and Kingfisher Airlines.

Another option is to fly into Delhi and then to travel by hired car to Agra. Though this may be a long drive, it may be necessary if the Kheria Airport is closed. The Kingfisher and Air India Regional airlines also fly into Jaipur and Delhi.

If you want to go to the Taj Mahal, this is the best option, because cars are not allowed there. Another option is to use the auto-rickshaws. You may also wish to rent a bicycle. Bicycles are readily available for rent and provide an easy mode of transportation.
