Cheap flights to Hyderabad recently found by travellers
Arriving at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport

You can find many cheap flights to Hyderabad from domestic and international locations. Hyderbad flights arrive at the modern Hyderabad airport, which has excellent connectivity. The airport is located about 24 kilometres outside the city, replacing the old international airport in Begumpet in 2008. It is said to have some of the best airport services and facilities, and is one of the busiest airports in the country. You can find food courts, bookstores and duty free shopping inside the airport. If you are at the airport for a stop-over and don't want to enter the city, you can find five star hotels nearby. If you have any other requirements, ask around. The staff are very friendly and speak excellent English.

Getting around Hyderabad

After long, cheap flights to Hyderabad, sit back and relax as one of the airport-run air-conditioned buses takes you into the city. A more expensive option would be the air-conditioned taxis waiting right outside the terminal building. Within the city there are plenty of buses and auto rickshaws available to catch after your Hyderabad flights. The buses are the cheapest form of transportation but they can get extremely crowded and it is likely that you will have to stand the whole time. Auto rickshaws are more comfortable on the other hand, but the drivers are notorious for ignoring the metered fare and charging extra. If you want to change it up, there are always air-conditioned taxis just a cell phone call away.

Main Attractions in Hyderabad

Hyderabad is known for its historical attractions that date back to the Mughal Empire. You can find palaces, forts, tombs, temples, mosques and museums. Most of these places can be found in the old city. Don't miss the Charminar and the light and sound show at Golconda Fort. The Mecca Masjid is the most famous mosque in Hyderabad, while the Birla Mandir is the most famous temple. Visit the Falaknuma and Chowmahalla Palaces for some beautiful architecture. The Qutab Shahi Tombs and Paigah Tombs are important structures as well. Another landmark is the Hussain Sagar Lake. It is an artificial lake with a huge statue of Buddha right in the middle. Ringing the lake is the beautiful Necklace Road, a great place to go for an early evening stroll.

Check out the Golden Mile for shopping malls, plazas and other boutique stores.

Hyderabad offers a wide array of cuisine selection for the discerning diner such as authentic curries and delicious deserts. After saving money on your cheap tickets to Hyderabad, you might want to spend some of it sampling the rich cuisine here. You cannot leave the city without trying some of the famous Hyderabad biryani. You can find this dish on every street and in most restaurants and hotels. If you want meat, the gosht or goat is a fantastic choice.

If you are looking for something to do at night, Banjara Hills is the place to go. You will find some of the more popular pubs and bars here. There are numerous liquor stores across the city, and most restaurants have bars attached to them. Just remember, all these places close down by eleven and the police start patrolling after that.
