Hi there (André H) If you have only one day left for a scuba-trip in Zanzibar - which of the Safari Blue or the Mnemba Atoll trips would you choose?
We also went snorkling at Mnemba, however you kind of swimm as deep as some of the divers, the reeefs are shallow enough and you can see more snorkling at Mnemba.
The reefs in the south where Safari Blue takes you to is not well preserved and the water is not so clear. My recommendation is still a half day or full day trip to Mnemba. on the way back you could also request that they drop you off at Nungwi , where you could swim with the sea turtle's in the Mnari conservattion pond- and this could easily be fitted into one full day.
But Mnemba wins hiands down, on reef quality, the wildlife at the reef and on water clarity. It is also much less crowded than Safari Blue
Definitely Mneba Atholl. Safari blue is too crowded and the reefs are not nearly as nice and clear as The Wall at Mnemba Atholl.
Sorry - meant snorkeling - not scuba. We have limited time, so would not be able to do the Safari Blue as well as a scenic day or half-day trip to see the Mnemba reefs. We must make a choice - which would you recommend?
