Hi, I am allergic to dogs and have asthma, so would definitely need a non-smoking room, away from the smoking areas. I'm sorry to say that I am also a very light sleeper, so noise is difficult for me. Given all that, is this a reasonable place to me to stay in January?
Yes the motel rooms are quiet, although like anywhere else, there will usually be some noise from guests on either side arriving home late or leaving early, or maybe making the odd little thump or bang.
I am sure if you ring the owner they will tell you about dogs and the back units are quieter but you are on the main road into Wanaka so it depends on just how light a sleeper you are.
Re animals, we did not see any dogs on the premises. The owners live at the front so I guess we would have. However we were away from the unit most of the two days we stayed there.
Re noise - the standard units are around the back and were quiet. We did not notice noise from the other units.
The King units are at the front of the motel which faces a road into Wanakaand it is one of the first motels you see if you are coming in. They are quite set back so I doubt road noise would be an issue, but I guess it depends on how lightly you sleep.
Hope this helps.
