Hi Kristina, thanks for your review of Aditya homestay in Munduk.
I am hoping of getting to Munduk from the Ferry port (Gilimanuk).. you didnt travel to this homestay from there by any chance did you?
If so, was it easy getting transport?.. from there we would be heading back towards the Bali airport.
Thanks in advance, Matt
Matt, public transport would be extremely difficult. But from Gilmanuk it would be very easy to hire a car and driver to Munduk. The trip should take 2 to 2 1/2 hrs. and should cost no more than 4 or 500,000 Rp.
We travelled from Tannah Lot to Munduk by motorbike so I dont really know much about Gilimanuk. Sorry :( But the homestay is really good. Try the food - its very tasty.
Matt , there will be folks hanging out at the port with vans looking for riders. If no one is around ask any local and chances are they'll find some one quickly. Settle the price before you get in. Just about all of the drivers speak some English. All are professional drivers. All will be happy to stop at sights on the way. The road up to Munduk is beautiful. You gain enough altitude to pop your ears a few times. The road over the volcano to the airport is also spectacular especially through Bedugal. Relax and enjoy. They take good care of you on Bali.
Thanks guys for the info and time taken to reply, much appreciated. Do you know of a company in the area I can contact for a private car with driver? Thanks in advance if you do, matt
Tim not sure where Gilmanuk is. We hired a car and driver in Ubud to take us there. There were five of us plus luggage and we stopped along the way to sightsee. Drivers and cars are quite reasonably priced. Another option you might look into; my nephew came from Ubud to Munduk via public bus
