I lie about 12 miles northwest of Fairbanks. If you have a rental car, allow yourself 30 minutes to drive out, so you can enjoy the ride and see the variety of owner-built homes, and the lovely boreal forest along the way. If you do not want to drive yourself, call Airlink 452-3337. They charge $20 /passenger round trip. They are prompt, safe and better priced than a taxi. I recomend using their service.

By taxi it is expensive, but try AirLink. It's $20 one way. The company knows where Mary lives,so contact it. Mary Kimi moo gave us the number, but you should be able to find it in the Fairbanks phone book.

We drove our rental car. Since it was in February, the roads were covered in packed snow, but we didn't have a problem, and we didn't have a 4WD. If it's winter, however, you can park by the street at the top of her driveway, just so you'll have a little easier time getting out. If you don't have a rental, you could take a taxi, or there's also a shuttle service that Mary can give you the info on...I've heard it's about $20. The tour is suppose to be 2 hours, but we stayed quite a bit longer than that...I think that's pretty typical. Mary will answer any questions you have, tell more stories, let you spend more time with the dogs--she doesn't rush you at all. It's $50 per person, so it was $100 for me and my husband, and it was well worth it!!!! She also has some of her books for sale if you'd like to buy one, but I'm not sure of the cost. She actually gave us one as a wedding present, since we were there on our honeymoon, and she signed it and wrote a note to us in it :)

We had our own car and drove. You can check out the website for info on cost and transportation. It is worth every penny. She is an Alaskan treasure. We spent 3 hours there and she had a fresh chocolate banana cake she baked for us to enjoy while she talked about her life.

Mary charges $50 per person, you can pay through her web site. Airlink is a local shuttle service (phone number on Mary's web site) that does a round trip from Fairbanks for $20 per person, about a 20 minute ride. Hope you go - enjoy.

reasonable cost involved. It was very much worth every penny!

Mary told us of a transportation company to call. There was a charge, but we got door-to-door service and I felt that it was well worth it.
