No. You never need a reservation here. There's always plenty of seating.
I would give them a call to see how busy they are. The town gets crowded on some
holidays, especially around the reenactments in July. For Memorial Day, probably
somewhat busy too. So I would call them. Having a reservation is good for you and a
courtesy to them...this is a very fine restaurant, one of the best in the area.
That probably depends on the size of your party, and your tolerance for waiting. I have found that when I go with a larger party (5 or more) reservations will decrease the wait time. At times, I have found they have a group or bus coming at the time I planned to be there, but I doubt that would happen on a holiday weekend.
