Hello we will be staying here next month and wanted to know whats the closest and best tour company to go on from this hotel?
One nice option is contacting Big Apple Greeter. You would need to do this now as they request about 4-6 weeks notice. It is a free service and you can tailor the experience or the guide can make suggestions
You will be hawked to buy tours every few feet in Times Square, so you are smart to check them out first.
The Renaissance Hotel staff is very helpful and can probably help you find the best company for your needs. The staff recommended the Red bus which allows you to jump on and off as you would like. It's also fairly easy to catch a cab between stops.
If language is not a barrier for you I would recommend just walking around Times Square for some time and if you are going to be there for more than two days, I would buy the City Pass which includes access to most of the best places to see in NY and you can get to all of them by Subway. That is the cheapest most efficient way to visit some of the key spots in the city that never sleeps.
Hi Linda We used the RED Hop On Hop Off bus which stopped outside the hotel door and it was great. Do the evening one as you get both NY in daylight then as the lights come on you are coming back from Brooklyn. Then we used the same bus to get around the next day (as we had a 2 day ticket). Unfortunately I don't know the name of the company from the top of my head but they are all different colours and as I said above, use the RED one.
Cheers
Rusty
