how far is it from times square, and what is the easiest way to get there?
I see someone else explained how to get there. However, Tom's Diner is REALLY not worth the effort. It is cheap (plastic cups) and outrageously expensive ($8 minimum) at the same time If you plan to walk around Harlem and visit the Cathedral of St. John the Divine on Amsterdam and 110th, then stopping at Tom's before or after is a reasonable option. But there are better coffee shops in the neighborhood. Enjoy!
15 to 20 minutes on the 1 train to 110th Street and walk 2 blocks north. It's on the north east corner of 112th and Broadway, I think.
Simple as falling off a log. Take the big red 1 train to 110 cathedral uptown. Walk 1 block north. Toms on east side Broadway.
Oh... And it is worth seeing.. Just to say you have seen it... The windows have changed.. Not to many notice that..
But if you want to eat. Go another block or two and eat there.. Awesome breakfest.. Can't remember the name.
Take the Red 1 subway to the Cathedral Pkway.. Then walk North two blocks.
The trick to me was to walk back through Central Park...
You can take the same subway back a stop or two. And walk back through the park...
Oh.. You can pick up the subway from St Columbus circle...
Bottom left (SW) corner of the park.. Takes about 15 minutes.. And its a $2.70 each way per person...
It is far from Times Square. A cab ride will cost you about $30. You can also take the subway. Much cheaper. Take the #1 train from Times Square 42nd street station towards van cortlandt park. Exit at cathedral parkway. It's about a tenth of a mile walk from there. It's worth the trip. Very cool place to see and the food is fabulous! Enjoy!
