Yes - you can shop in the gift shop without purchasing admission to the museum. They have a nice selection of native goods.

You pay for admission to the museum in the gift shop, so I would think that the gift shop may be entered free. As noted above, the museum is well worth a visit, so don't stop at the gift shop.

Yes. It is a nice little gift shop. I found earrings and matching hairclip, a pillow cover and a ginger root that is USDA approved for transport back to the US. I think there is a discount with admission.

Yes, but if you miss out on visiting the museum, and listening to one of the wonderful docents, you will miss a good insight into the different Hawaiian groups. I didn’t realize there were several groupings hostile to each other, it was an eye opener. It is not a big museum, but well worth the time.
