I was contacted by Ms. Jessie Thompson (Landry's HR) and while she appeared to be concerned about my experience, her response was insulting. While speaking with Ms. Thompson she quoted their discrimination policy (statement) to imply that they do not discriminate. While this may be Landry's policy is does not preclude an employee from discriminating against someone. I was further insulted by the letter sent by their Director of HR, Laura Jasso to me which included a $15 gift card to use at any Landry's establishment. The value of this card further confirms their concern for my experience at the Rain Forest Cafe. $15 will not cover the cost of a meal at any of their properties.
I will be returning the card.
The only issue I had at Rainforest Cafe Galveston was with that someone changed the tip amount on my receipt before finalizing my payment. I supposed that someone didn't realize that now days people get phone notifications when their card is charged and for what amounts. I took it up with management and they were apologetic but offered nothing to lessen my anger about the fraud.
