Is it only the inside exhibits that close at 5:00 pm?

If you want to go in the evening, go to the free night at the beginning of the month when most of the museums are open late.
When it's closed, there is no access to outdoor sculptures, except the occasional sculpture they put in front. The only way to the sculpture garden is through the building.
I do think everything closes but there are special events in the evening. During the summer months there are many more outside events at night.
They are somewhat unfriendly hours but I beleive everything closes. The cafe closes earlier. It is a great place to visit if you can work it into your schedule.
Center is open 11a.m. - 5 p.m. for normal hours only check their website or call for special events.
Summertime they have movies on the grounds, or midnight at the museum events that make it worth planning into a scheduled trip.
