We are staying at the Blake hotel soon with our 3 young kids. What is within walking distance that would be fun for our kids to do or see?
Walk north up State Street or Michigan Avenue to the Chicago River Walk (at Wacker Drive). Jump on a river excursion boat. Maybe get them up to Navy Pier from there and ride the giant ferris wheel. Catch a cab or Uber back.
I'm sorry I was there with adults so I'm not sure what is nearby for kids. "The Bean" is not far from there in Millennium park. We did go to the Shedd aquarium and it is good for kids and adults.
Millinum Park is not far away and with in walking distance.
Walking distance to millennium park, the tower a all glass room over a mile high, the aquarium
These are the area my wife and I walk to and enjoy the walk
Millennium Park isn't too far of a walk. Buckingham Fountain is close by as well. If you want to go to any museums, I would suggest an Uber. It would be a short ride but may be too far to walk.
We were there in March, so didn't walk many places. But I agree with the above suggestions. We took cabs to several of those places, and none were more than $8 or so, if you don't want to walk.
millennium park is jaunt 4 kids, but fun!
There is a really cool playground by millenium park. It is about 8 blocks away. Also buckingham fountain is super cool. Grab a Chicago dog from one of the street vendors.
Willis Tower and sky deck is a 13 minute walk. It is awesome. Grant Park is pretty close. A little farther is the Field Museum and Shed Aquarium. It is about a mile away. I don't know how far you are willing to walk or how old your children are.
