Hi, What airport did you fly into when you stayed at Hotel Villa Pannonia? Also how did you get from the airport to the hotel and how much did it cost?
We flew to Venice Marco Polo. Then you get a water bus which takes about an hour to get to Lido. It's a five minute walk from the water bus stop. You can get a private water taxi but that's 130 Euro rather than 10 for the bus.
We flew into Marco Polo and just walked to the Alilaguna water taxi. Think it was €15 . Then short walk to hotel.
There are more expensive options but no reason to use them.
I flew into Treviso as cane from Malta and went to Verona for a few days first. Ryanair do a shuttle into Venice or there is an independent airport bus. Cost €12 one way.
Then you will need to get a water taxi or Vaporetto (water bus) over to the Lido which is €7.50 each way or you can buy a discounted travel card.
The hotel is easy walking distance from the jetty and will literally only take you a couple of minutes.
It's an experience.
We flew into the airport at Venice.
Transfered via Alliguna boat direct to Lido SME which is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. You can get tickets from machines in the baggage reclaim area. I can't remember how much it was but it wasn't too expensive.
If you want luxury you can also hire a private water taxi at the airport. Quicker but costs about €100
