We are planning a girl's weekend mid October. Are the restaurants and such within walking distance or do we need to rent a car. I understand you have to take a taxi from airport as B&B does not have shuttle service. Any recommendations. We are not beach people but want to tour the area; are there a lot of things to do?
I think you need a car. It would definitely make life easier. There are several casual restaurants within walking distance, but the nice ones are too far to walk. With a car, you can explore more of the area - the artsy parts as well as nature.
I would rather drive. It is pretty dark out there near the Port D'Hiver and after dinner and whatever, you're better off driving. Just have your GPS on and you won't get lost.
We found it to be inclusive.....walk to an excellent, 5 star restaurant, with more casual ones near, also. Wonderful "happy hour" at the main house each evening, lovely pool, and supply room with bikes, chairs and snacks for the beach. Feel like you are away from it all!!!
