Silver Strand State Beach Questions & Answers

The campsite says NO WIFI. My hubby needs wifi access to make this trip happen... Any experience with laptop access from RV sites or on the beach itself? Thanks!

I as well don't know about WiFI access, we just used our cell phones on 4G LTE while there and sent several texts and pictures to others. I would imagine that if 4G LTE is available that you could get a jet pack that generates a WiFi signal to be able to connect your other devices with. We travel frequently with a jet pack that we use on our Verizon 4G LTE and it works really well, we are able to connect 5 devices to the jet pack WiFi. Ours is a couple of years old now and I hear the newer ones work even better. I also know you can rent jet packs (or other devices that generate a WiFi signal) for about $10 a day from various companies and I've heard those work out good too. You're right close to the city there while on the beach so I don't see this as any problem to get a WiFi signal generated from another device, it'll likely just end up costing you a few dollars a day to do so.

Nope, no WiFi and the Strand is kind of a dead zone as far as solid service, depending upon your carrier. A WiFi puck might work as will your phone if you have Verizon or AT&T. T-Mobile and Sprint aren’t that great here.

Sorry - not sure about the wifi situation at the beach. There are a few free wifi places in Coronado, just up the strand. Panera and Starbucks. Maybe a breakfast and wifi break?
