Is there a free shuttle to Legoland? Have all the suites been updated? I saw some recent pics of pretty run down rooms...we are booked for October as a surprise trip to Legoland for our son's 8th birthday but I'm wondering if Staybridge Suites might be a newer property-The Inn looks to be in a beautiful location but doesn't seem to offer the same options as SBS.
No shuttle to legoland. We stayed both in a standard "hotel" room and in one of the condos. The hotel room was very outdated and old and I was very glad we were only in it for one night. The condo was updated and very nice. We choose Carlsbad Inn because of the proximity to the beach - just a short walk across the street and down the steps- and the beach equipment we could check out so we didn't have to take our own. The drive to legoland was about 10 minutes if there wasn't traffic.
There is a Grand Pacific Resort next to Legoland. You can walk over. Also Marbrisa (Hilton Grand Vacation Property) and Sheraton have a "private entrance". All of those are more updated then the Carlsbad Beach Inn.
The main reason to stay at Carlsbad Inn is the proximity to the beach and shops and restaurants. I have stayed at the inn side and the suites side. Both were completely updated. There is no shuttle to Legoland.
If you're going to Legoland then Grand Pacific resort is a better choice. They have updated rooms and suites. They do have shuttle to Legoland.
I'm not sure if there is shuttle to Legoland, but I'm sure you can easily take the bullet train there. The train station is within walking distance from the resort. We are not owners so our room was not one of the best, but it was pretty nice.
