How long does it take from the parking lot to the airpot Vortex or how far is it?
The vortex parking lot is right by the vortex. You simply walk up a hill, about 100 ft high. Easy. The airport parking lot is about 1/4 mile up hill on the road from the vortex parking lot. There is a trail that leads down the hill...good shoes needed. Or, walk on the road down to the vortex parking lot. You can't miss it...easy to see.
If you are lucky enough to get a parking spot at the small lot near the Vortex, then it is 5-10 minutes maximum. However, that lot only holds 10-12 cars. At peak periods you are going to have to park farther up the mountain, at the Airport Overlook parking lot. From there add another 20 minutes in each direction. The walk back to the larger lot is uphill.
My wife and I went to the Vortex for a sunrise experience and photo shoot. It is a great time to go and as you might expect, much less crowded! The Airport Vortex is so popular and crowded it is hard to have a good experience there.
From the small parking lot there is a sign that points to the right for the trail. Instead go left - there is a small but powerful vortex about 50 ft from the parking lot that goes part way up the left side.of the hill behind the parking lot. If I remember, it's very rocky. The vortex boundaries are very strongly felt and the plants within have a blueish tint and are noticeably more vibrant than the plants outside the vortex.
Actually everyone that answered gave a right answer. I would have given the same answers
A minute by car, a few minutes walking.
You park at the base . Very easy !
From the airport parking lot you just walk across the street
The answer above is spot on. I'll only take it one step further and say that for the views, if you can get to Cathedral Rock, your eye candy is infinitely better.
The parking is right at the base of the rock if that is what you are asking. Then, to get to the top, there are two routes, one is very gradual with only a few step-ups on the way and you can take your time. You could do it in 5 minutes. The other way has some areas of rocks placed as steps and even some wire handrail to use to aid your climb. That way may take a minimum of 10 minutes. Either way rewards you with a beautiful vista, although as you probably know, it is closer to town so you see civilization around.
