My apologies : that last question should read " Does the Panoramic Hotel have an Airport Shuttle service. If not, what is the average taxi cost? Same for taxis to the Falls - anyone know the average cost to travel from Panoramic to the Brazilian & the Argentinian sides?
We booked an Airport transfer with the hotel a bit expensive as we discovered you could just take a taxi from the Airport. When we arrived at the hotel we just dropped bags and headed for Brazilian side again in a taxi. It is really worth seeing this side first as it gives a more 'panoramic' view of the falls. To go to the Argentinian side you can take a bus from the centre of the town, Puernto Iguacu just a few minutes walk from the hotel. Very reasonable and good if you are interested in just seeing a bit of the 'local' but it is slow! There are plenty of taxis at the Falls to get you back to the hotel. Very important ! remember its cash only at the Falls! we got there with just enough to get in as we had assumed they would take cards.
It was about 30 to 40 dollars each way from airport to hotel. Our taxi driver was very nice and we had him drive us to the Argentinian side of the falls both days we were there. Maybe taking a tour to the Brazilian side would be better. Admission is like 25 dollars a person and for Americans needed a visa for Brazil which is 100 dollars so we decided not to go to Brazil for a few hours.
